31F and overcast in Suffolk, VA. We will be here one more night before heading home.

31 huh? I guess you’re slowly getting re-conditioned for the pending Wisconsin winter.

18 heading to the mid 20’s with a light snow falling. I don’t expect much accumulation as this storm looks to be mostly east and south of me. I’m fine with that! Not much on tap today other than going over to my son’s place to meet his new puppy. A Grand Pyrenees and Maremma mix who is going to be huge. They have chickens and hope he will be a good guard dog.

32 on its way to 48 under a beautifully clear Carolina Blue Sky .... Christmas is one week away and if all goes as usual, that week will pass in a flicker .... this week's forecast includes a mixture of cold clear and cold wet days .... we still aren't sure what day we will move our camper in which we will spend Christmas per what has become a family tradition

41° this morning on the dog walk. The dogs don't like to stay out as long in this cooler weather. It's almost 10:00 a.m. and it is only 47°. Our low on Christmas eve is supposed to be in the low 20's. We're not used to that down here. I hope our electric grid doesn't fail like it did two years ago.
I cooked some hot cereal, toast and coffee this morning.

I know the feeling Jake. Here in Minnesnowta I always worry about the electricity being lost, so
this year we installed a Generac system. I feel a little bit better about it now.

About 4000 ft...-30's this week and looks like almost +50 in the forecast for next week with rain. Mountains....go figure.

Our cabin is right at 4000', but the conditions can be quite different down 1000 or up 1000.

We live right at 1200 but the weather you have now we will probably have in a week or so.

I live at 1,870 which is 80 lower than the highest point in Wisconsin. I can see the tower from my front window.

We delivered a few more of the Holiday Goode Bags yesterday and will finish up today.
One of the return benefits is the Banana Nut Bread that one friend makes. Carol doesn't
want to eat it due to calories, so the duty goes to me. I put a nice pad of butter on it,
and micro wave it for 30 seconds. It's tough duty, but I can do it.

A late good morning from central SC, over here visiting the youngest and the grandkids for Christmas.
Didn't check the weather when I got up, but know it was low 30's, with a high later in the upper 40's.

12 overnight which is much better than the zero that was forecast. The arctic blast is taking its time getting here and I’m fine with that. The weather folks are now thinking that the “blast” may not be as severe as first thought. Or course the trade off is more snow. Might see 2-5” tomorrow and again on Thursday. Either way, it sure is winter out there. Or as Ranchroper would say, a nice spring day.

Not much on tap today so I’ll have to make my own amusement including taking the no longer a pup out for some walks on the plowed areas. Met my son’s new pup yesterday and he’s a sweetie. But, it sure reminded me just how mature our “pup” has become.

I got busy this morning with "honey do's" so this is a late report. It was 47° this morning on the dog walk and now it is 46°so the colder air is making it's way down slowly. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee. Went and got a face cord of firewood for Robyn. She's afraid we're going to lose power for a few days like two years ago. We used the fireplace for heat and cooking the last time. Good old cast iron Dutch ovens are hard to beat. We've got three of them and can make anything from stews to breads, to desserts. We did some grocery shopping after getting the firewood stacked in the back yard.

They were forecasting single digits here last night and it only got down to 13 which I guess is a little better. Predicting -4 for Wed. night. Glad I'm not RanchRoper's neighbor.

Outdoor cats are cuddled up in their bed with a radiant heater. Going out to set up a heat lamp for the goats, the young one is fine but my older girl was shivering a little this morning. Maybe because of our very warm and later than usual fall but they don't seem to have as thick as usual winter coat.
