I couldn't take the snow and cold anymore. I've lived in Texas too long. It was a cool 41° on the dog walk about 6:30 this morning. It's warmed up to 51° at this writing about 10:00 a.m. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee this morning. I'm going to send out a few Christmas cards, practice my guitar(s), and do a bit of work later in the afternoon.

just received the first 4 pictures from Estelline, SD were we spend our summers .... I can understand why most of the relatives out there wouldn't agree but to me they are beautiful

as mentioned above, (last 2 pictures) rain started falling here last night and had slowed down a bit but is still coming down right now

37 with visibility less than one quarter mile in dense fog .... with 55 degrees being predicted for today's high .... next to no chance of rain .... Maureen is already out and about, I don't anticipate leaving home today .... after talking about it and little else for a while, I do plan to get serious about sharpening knives ..... my 2011 Chevy pickup passed our state's yearly safety inspection with flying colors .... that comes as no surprise but is always good when it happens

Awoke to 48 this morning. It's now 51 and should get into the lower 60's. I just had cereal, banana, and coffee.

13 heading to 22 later on. Still too dark to see what the sky looks like but the weather guy said it’s foggy all over the area.

I’m fighting a frozen rain gutter above the patio that’s causing the patio to be an ice rink. Yesterday I put some heat tape in it which looks to be helping. But I had to disconnect the downspout as it’s frozen solid and won’t take water. Unfortunately doing this is causing the water to drain onto one of Mrs. Hatchdog’s plants so I heard about that. So the next plan is to remove the downspout, take it downstairs to thaw and then reinstall with heat tape running down it. I have a roof/gutter heat system on order (nothing available locally) that will be here on Monday. But, until I can get all the ice off the gutter I won’t be able to properly install it. This is the seventh winter we have been in this house and this is the first time this problem has occurred.

I had to drive twenty miles to a clinic right by the Mall of America to get my blood work done.
The roads were terrible. A Wintery mix.
Then I got home and had to plow again today.
Kinda pretty out there.

23 now, 23 all night, 23 all day yesterday. Crazy to not have the temp change. We can expect temps in the 20’s for the weekend and then the big chill arrives. The weather folks are still uncertain but we may see highs in the low teens and lows in the low single digits to below zero. Stepson from California called yesterday and is thinking about bringing our granddaughter up next week for a visit and some skiing. Boy, bad timing for them, it will be much colder up on the mountain.

Up to a balmy 18, but it's a dry cold and actually doesn't feel too bad.
Well, I plowed the snow, again. My neighbor stopped me at the end of the drive and asked if I might
plow his. He's a good friend but a few years ago he purchased a new Bobcat with a snow blower on it,
so he's been doing his own. He said the Bobcat has rubber treads and the hills on his drive are so icy
it just slips all over the place, so I took my 40 year old Bronco and plowed then out. It was slippery and
a lot of snow that had not been plowed, but I got it done. Good friends are good neighbors.

That old Bronco doesn't owe me anything anymore. 40 years of use.😁

0F here, looks like some arctic weather this week. we've had a couple f bouts of it so far this winter. One of my fingers got frostbite recently, couldn't figure out why it looked & felt burned but that's what it is. Have to be careful shooting in this weather.

Coffee, no cookies this AM. I found out the hard way that old men don't consume
large amounts of Christmas Candy. Haven't had much sleep.
Church but nothing going on till this evening when we are taking our neighbors to dinner for
baby sitting our cat while we were gone a couple of weeks ago. They're really nice and we
