The Colt Anaconda comes back home!
Yes I received a phone call from FedEx last night that my Anaconda would be delivered today Monday and that was a very pleasant surprise.
So right about Noon it was delivered and when I opened the case there it was nice and shiny. An invoice showed they had replaced the barrel and after inspecting it the bore looked really nice on this one! So off to my range to get some lead thru it and this time my shooting hand was pain free.
First loads thru the snake were the Matt's Bullets 230 gr SWC gas check cast lead bullets loaded with 9 gr. Unique. This load has shot very well and clean
thru my S&W Model 69 and as you can see. What more could you ask for with Double Action shooting from 10 yds. All shots fired on these targets were DA only. Today it looked like I shot it better in DA mode rather than SA and that trigger and action is butter smooth!
The next round was the Missouri Bullets 240 gr. coated Keith style bullet loaded with 8.5 gr. Unique and those were right there nice tight group.
Later was plinking the steel a bit before my time ran out and looks like this revolver came back as a great Double Action shooter from Colt Repair.
Will order up 500 of those Matt's Bullets too!

Re: The Colt Anaconda comes back home!
What kind of recoil from those 300 gr Slammers?
I have a 300 gr mold for Lyman, but mine come out Heavy, 317 to 327 grs.
Only shot them through the Marlin 444.
Looks like they all shot well, glad they took care of the issue.

The 300's had some recoil but nothing bad and these not loaded to max but did knock the heck out of my swinging plates!
This revolver handles recoil really well and comfortable to shoot.

That is sweet. Looks good, shoots better.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

I always like those few seconds walking to a target and seeing how well I shot.fortyshooter wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 8:52 pmYeah when I shot the first 6 shots and looked at the target I couldn't believe it either and it mostly stayed that way.
