Hatchdog, good to hear you and your wife are getting a break. It keeps getting tougher as we get older. My wife has been a spinal cord patient for 38years and it isn't getting any easier for her. She gives up a few hours a week so me and my older brother can shoot once a week. I stole an hour last night and loaded 50 rounds of 9mm 147 grain Falcon coated flag points. My brother has a S&W 986 revolver and he gave me 3 moonclips ,he's generous with his ammo but I try not to use his.

Actually cleaned my Winchester SXP 12 gauge on the reloading bench this evening. The bench is getting more use for 2nd amendment chores. No cleaning weapons on kitchen table anymore. My wife is even bothered by the scent on Hoopes #9.

Don't buy a flintlock unless you want to forget how to reload cartridges....it's been so long I'd have to start over. :)

Never owned or even cared to own one.
I do though have 3 percussion rifles, and 4 cap & ball revolvers.
But, I could never see those taking the place of a good cf rifle or handgun.
Plus all the cleanup those require, nope never happen.

If I had a flintlock, it would be an unused trophy piece over the fireplace. I wouldn't want the mess that goes with using one.

Sept. 18th last time I shot some revolvers revolvers.
I had just bought this '51, and these were my first shots.

The '58 was my first and this was the first time in a good while since I last shot it.
It's my ugliest and favorite. 😉

On another note, deprimed some 6.5 brass, and a few 41 mags.
Also loaded 24 210 xtp's over some 2400 in 41 mag. brass.
May try to use one of those on a deer.
