Well, believe it or not there is a season for them here, which doesn't open until next weekend, and
runs until the last day of Feb.
Now if I had chickens like my neighbor down the street, or sheep as you do then I would have been justified to do so.
But like I said I had no chance at the one the other day, and back in that Summer I had nothing but the phone.

Had lost another 2 lambs overnight to foxes when I checked yesterday morning and nothing in the traps.
Was planning on trying to decoy a fox or two yesterday afternoon but had 3 ewes that were having difficulty and need lambs pulling.
Off to do it all over again today, hopefully no losses overnight, sun is out this morning so a nice change from all the rain.
One stillborn lamb yesterday so will use it as a lure on a set today.

I have to drive a friend to the hospital this morning Jim. It’s not going to be fun clearing the snow and ice from my van. I have a three car garage and it’s full of cars, teardrops, tractors, mowers and snow blowers.

51 degrees with light rain this morning. High around 60. Yesterday, I helped load lumber from the deck we tore down a few weeks ago on a flat bed truck. Probably don’t need to tell you how I feel this morning. Don’t plan on doing much today.

Better make room for that van Gene. This is just a small taste of what's coming.
The best thing to do with Winter in the Midwest is embrace it. Get a snowmobile, skies, show shoes, warm clothes, ect.

Hey Sir Henry, your storage issue is nothing that a nice 40x60 metal building wouldn’t take care of.

Here it’s a brisk 16 with some light frost on the trees, looks like Christmas. Should be sunny and 32 later. Our dog does not like heat and is enjoying the snow. We go for a hike every day and it’s very enjoyable. More of the same for the next week but there is a suggestion that next week we could see some additional snow. Hmmm just in time for Holiday travel. Here we have mountain passes to both the east and the west so any distance travel for folks will include crossing them. Happy to be staying home.

A windy 44° this morning. Currently it's only 48°. I think we'll be lucky to make the mid 50's today which is about 15° lower than normal. I cooked some hot cereal this morning along with a couple of left over powder biscuits and coffee.

I'll probably get the plow out and clean up a little. We got just a little more snow overnight.
Tomorrow morning early we are leaving for a funeral in the St. Louis area and I may not post
for a few days. I'm not taking my laptop because most of the time I'll be either driving or
socializing with family members. We're Scotch Irish and a funeral to us is a chance to get together.
My Father came from a family of fifteen children and they all loved to play cards. We used to say
that a funeral just meant one less at the card table. It always was we all went out to eat, and then
the card game began. They're all gone now. I miss them.

it appears that our area (as it should) is creeping steadily from late summer to early winter .... our first hard freeze could be on tap for tomorrow night.... currently 44 on its way to 58 .... yesterday's rain has moved out, the next chance of rain doesn't appear in our forecast for the next 10 days .... only thing our our schedule for today is a visit from the folks who installed our garage doors .... the feature that allows them to work during a power outage isn't working and one door needs a minor adjustment

20 with an upper fog keeping the sun away. If this fog doesn’t burn off it’s going to be a cold day. I’m planning on making a trip the the rifle club today which is located on the bank of the Spokane river. If the fog persists it’s going to be a cold day on the range. I’m planning on sighting in/ ammo preferences for three rimfire rifles and if I’m not too frozen work on my 32 H&R load in my Single Seven. Come on sun…

A cool 39° this morning on the dog walk. It's 53° now just past 10:00 a.m. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee this morning. The wife is leaving tomorrow for a few days. I'll be "batchin" it with the sister-in-law to handle by myself until late next Monday.
