Awoke to an amazing 43° this morning. It's 55° at noon today. I cooked some steele cut oats this morning along with my toast and coffee.
Watched some TV this morning and now I'm going to do a bit of work this afternoon.

Today is an Ag burn day, so that is what I'll start in a little bit. Egg, Hash browns, scone and tea. Some where is the 40's with hazy sunshine.

Flood watch again today, forecast is for over 3", currently raining only lightly but lots of thunder and lightning so heavens could open at any stage.
Attended the club yesterday and shot, mosquitos were terrible with all the water still about after the past few weeks. Nice and sunny but shortly after we left they copped nearly 3" in 30min and more flash flooding.
Guess we are lucky in one respect water here rises very quickly but drops just as quick. About 20 miles to the headwaters of the little creek in town but over 2000 feet in elevation change only about 300 feet from town to where it meets the main river 20 miles down stream. From the junction to where the gun club is there is only about 200 feet of drop over 40 miles and then 600feet of drop over the next 500miles.
Plenty of places down stream that are in flood and the peak is still weeks away from getting to them.

This doe was eating in the light my house created. It’s cold and they eat whatever and whenever they can.

It's 30° here, and I am sitting in one of the hunting houses. Cloudy and overcast and the barometric pressure is up 30.39 and rising. They say they move more when it is over 30.
Only saw does yesterday two had little ones.

Got 6" wet snow last night. Temp 32º so hopefully it won't last long but more predicted later this week. Put my snowblower on the lawn tractor yesterday and with the weight up front it caused one of the front tires to cant. So dropped the blower and removed the wheel which has bushings instead of bearings. The grease was pretty hard and the bushings were well worn. Ordered a bearing upgrade kit from Amazon for $15 that may show up tomorrow. The replacement bushings on ereplacemaentparts.com were $6 each ( I need four) plus shipping and it would take at least a week to get them. Seems dumb not to use real bearing especially at the cost difference and the reviews were good. I will find out tomorrow afternoon if I made the right choice.

we are back home after spending the weekend camped with our club .... all in all, it went well and we had a good time .... Nicole ended up being little more than a minor inconvenience .... yesterday the high was in the mid 70's, today its going to struggle to get into the mid 50's and they say the temp will drop tonight to just below freezing .... if that proves to be correct, it will be the first time this fall .... nothing much on tap for the rest of the day

I would be grabbing a gun well before looking for a camera but then I am a sheep farmer with ewes currently lambing

Trapped 4 last week, lost at least one more lamb to them over the weekend, put a few more sets in yesterday so off shortly to check sheep and traps.

Well, believe it or not there is a season for them here, which doesn't open until next weekend, and
runs until the last day of Feb.
Now if I had chickens like my neighbor down the street, or sheep as you do then I would have been justified to do so.
But like I said I had no chance at the one the other day, and back in that Summer I had nothing but the phone.

Carol had a nice birthday dinner last night with our youngest daughter and her family.
We have some really nice country style ham from a local butcher shop along with
green beans, potatoes, and spoon bread. Then ice cream sundaes.
It was a good day.

48° this morning as it is cloudy and 55° at 9:00 a.m. Rain is in the forecast for later this evening as well as cooler temperatures for a couple of days. I just had cereal, banana, and coffee this morning for breakfast.

28 and overcast which is why it’s 28 and not 18. Mid 30’s for the high today but if we get some sun breaks that will improve. Yesterday stayed cloudy/foggy and it wasn’t a very pleasant day.

Sir Henry, that’s a great pic of the fox. The only fox I have ever seen in the wild was the one year I spent in North Dakota.
