2022 Hurricanes and Tropical Storms

by the time Nicole rolls through here late Thursday into Friday, the eye should be +/- a couple of hundred miles west of us ..... nonetheless, they are calling for 2 - 4" of rain .... looks like it may well be pretty soggy while we are setting up our camper on Friday for a weekend campout with our club

That doesn’t sound fun at all. Been there done that but never it that column of rain.

in our area, the hype about the rain forecasted for our area appears to be a bit over done .... 91% chance of rain sounds ominous .... delve into it and you get a much different picture .... right now they say 3 hours of rain that will amount to .31" .... now my luck is those 3 hours will be exactly during the time we need to unhook and setup our camper ....

Well, our forecast for tomorrow is up to 2" of rain, but winds less than 20 mph on Fri. Track is forecast to be well west of us when it passes. I may leave the bird feeders up.

sitting here looking at the weather radar .... Nicole's eye is still pretty much in the middle of Florida and her outer rain bands are already just south of us in central NC .... according to the hourly forecast, rain should reach us around 5PM .... we've already moved most of the stuff we will need for this weekend's camping trip into our camper and its hooked up to our truck ..... again referring to the forecast, we should have periods of off and on rain tomorrow .... hopefully we will be able to handle most of our camp setup during one of the down times

as forecasted, rain from Nicole moved through overnight .... tornado warnings northwest and southeast of us have just expired .... looks like things ought to improve throughout the morning .... wind doesn't seem to be an issue

well, for us Nicole is now history .... overnight on her way out she left several hard rain showers and the strongest wind that we've experienced .... thankfully, nothing destructive but, apparently, folks in lighter weight campers got bounced around .... it was the subject of considerable morning conversation .... no clue as to the total rainfall but it had to be several inches
