Two great .44 magnums
Re: Two great .44 magnums
Nice pair daytime dave!!
That Smith.. a 629?
I love that barrel length. What era is it from. Your photos don't show the left side so I can't see if it's got the lawyer lock or not.

Nice Dave. Hard to beat a 44 mag combo.

I didn't notice the magna port at first but now I see it. How much of a problem is it to keep the ports clean?

no problem at all to keep them clean .... I bought a pack of pipe cleaners 3 - 4 years and still have plenty left .... dip one end of the pipe cleaner in what ever cleaning solvent you use and it takes seconds to clean them ... spray whatever oil you like of use the other end of the pipe cleaner and you are good to goTravlin wrote:I didn't notice the magna port at first but now I see it. That's a great cleaning idea. I got my 7 1/2" Redhawk right after they first came out. Now that I am shooting it more, I might think about the magnaport idea. Thanks for the information.

Re: Two great .44 magnums
Mag-na-porting will change the way the pistol reacts to the recoil from a round being fired .... that will take a bit of getting used to .... instead of the barrel jumping upward, the pistol will come straight back .... I've found that with a two hand hold, allowing the force of the backward thrust to be absorbed by allowing my elbows to flex, gets me back on target much quicker and largely negates the recoilTravlin wrote:That's a great cleaning idea.
