Autumn shooting....

Post by RanchRoper » Sun Oct 02, 2022 3:06 pm

My Frontier .50 cal, beautiful day! 55F and no wind for a change.

.480 ball, .015 patch
50 gn GOEX 2fg

All shots off hand, I filed down my front sight a fraction awhile back as I was shooting a little low, seems to be better now. Also made a little tool to put an edge on my flint while it's still in the lock, helps when in the field. I have my gear set up so that I am self sufficient without having to be near a shed or bench. Old school, have your stuff on you. ;)

Great shooting. I always enjoy your range reports. Especially because it’s something I don’t shoot. Keep ‘em coming.

I really like your idea of not being tied to a source of supplies other than what you carry on you. You were born 150 years too late. :D

I just got my custom trapper tomahawk tonight, took awhile to get it. Made in USA by Bravehawk Forge in Texas. Easy to carry on my belt, and old school cool. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

RR, a bit off topic, but, how is the Hodgdon[Universal] powder situation up your way? Thanks.
