My wife and I went to a drag race on Oct.9 that was all diesel powered vehicles. They had some interesting trucks running the quarter mile drags even had big rigs from Canada there running. These things were incredible how fast they can get them to run with all that weight. Have to wait to see the times at the end of the track on the board until the black smoke clears. Some of the big ten wheel trucks ran the quarter mile in the lower thirteen second range at over a 100 mph. They had a couple Mustangs there doing time trails between the trucks running and a couple of the big trucks from Canada were faster than the 5.0 Mustang. They had a class for pickup diesels for the eight fastest pickups and the Cummins Dodges were the fastest in the class and were in the low tens at over a 130mph. We stayed for the finals and it was won by a Cummins Dodge and he got the $1000 for first place. I could not believe the turn out for a diesel event. What is amazing is my wife and I were maybe the oldest ones there as they are all young kids in there 20's-30's that are really in to this diesel stuff. I will post a few picture from that race that when I left there I had a different opinion on what can be done with a diesel.
Big rig doing his 8 tire burnout to heat the tires up.

Burn out with a pickup. Lots of tire and exhaust smoke

Two of the big boys headed down the track

This was one of the Dodges in the 10 second range. A really great restore on this stake bed truck

Two pickups on a run down the Mason-Dixon track
