She just wanted to do something nice and I thanked her for it. I made my tool box the following year. She came out in the shop and saw the box in progress with ALL those drawers and thought, Jewelry Box... she got excited. I said, "Gunsmith's Box," she was no longer excited.
There is a closet on the end, that contains cleaning rods, and they hang from shell casings for the caliber they are set up for. The door is held closed by rare earth magnets. It doesn't come open unless you give it a firm pull. For being small, those magnets have a strong hold. My wife says the bookmatched panel in the "closet" door has has preserved knots that look like owl's eyes.
My question for today is simple. I want to get rid of the cheap, plastic, freebie Glock cleaning rods that come in the glock tupperware boxes. You see them hanging in the Closet. I'd like to replace them with the Simple 7" Aluminum Loop handled Cleaning rod pictured below and also hanging in the closet. I have nothing against Glocks, I own several, but the Glock rods don't accept standard brushes and jags. They ARE plastic and you can force them in. I LIKE the simple rods. Most standard accessories fit them. I have searched everywhere and justI haven't been able to find anything comparable except the Brass Rods that are $10 each. I'd like to find eight of the aluminum ones to replace the plastic Glock ones in the closet, and maybe a couple spares.
Anyone know where I can find them? I hope I might find them in bulk at a gun show if one comes around. If someone has a bunch laying around...
