Our Morning Coffee and Weather

54 and partly overcast. Smoke is lessening but still around. We are no longer in the Unhealthy category but are still in the Unhealthy to Some category. Probably mid 70’s later. Today we’re taking my wife’s cousin up to a nice big park in Spokane were I grew up and “lived in” as a kid. Should be fun and a nice trip down memory lane for me.

Currently it's 83° with 63% humidity. I got up early to go for my eye injections. I cooked some sausage, eggs, toast and coffee to eat before I left. I took the Harley down to the medical office. I may ride it into Houston tomorrow for my urologist appointment. We'll see. It's another fine day in SE Texas.

Quick cup of coffee and then out to take a flat tire off the Miata and take it over to be fixed. Noticed it was flat when I was leaving for bowling which was good as it has no spare, just a compressor and plug kit. Can't remember the last time I've had a flat, haven't had one on the Miata or the Ranger so it's been over 20 years.

another busy day .... an early medical appointment required us to travel during Raleigh's morning rush hour .... granted, when contrasted with rush hour traffic in Atlanta, Houston, St Louis or untold numbers of other cities, Raleigh's ain't on the same level .... that said, our usual hour drive ended up taking about just over an hour and a half ... on the way home we stopped at a Denny's Restaurant ... its probably been a couple of years or more since we've eaten at on of their places ..... the food was fine, the price was much higher .... after getting back home we spent some time getting our camper for this weekend's club outing .... I also installed a new engine air filter in Maureen's Camaro .... when it comes to working on our vehicles, that's one of the few types of things I can still do .... beautiful day, no rain expected through this weekend

Headed north this morn, got a tall one to start up on the Carroll county's 1000 acre lake.

Rain to the North but here the drought continues.
I ordered some Black Rifle coffee again. They have a variety pack and I'm going to try that.
Our favorite Supper Club has the best coffee around and I would like to duplicate that, so I'm
looking. They won't disclose their source.
Yard work today and then a very contentious Town Hall Meeting tonight. Carol is very involved in
it, and this could get very nasty.

Nailed it! I lived one house away from the north boundary of the park from age 6 to 18. What a great place to have available thru all stages of my growing up. From just playing on the swings as a little one to high school “activities” that shall not be mentioned.

Today we have 48 with smoky but not as bad skies with a predicted high of 75. We’re taking my wife’s cousin to Lake Coeur d’alene today for a boat cruise. Lots to see as the north end of the lake which is right in downtown Coeur d’alene ID is very built up with upscale resorts as is the Spokane River that drains the lake. The river is built up with upscale homes and hotels and all in all it’s pretty swanky for Idaho.

10:40 AM and, once again, its already been a busy morning .... took our Sportchassis to a place in south Raleigh that specializes in installing vehicle sound systems .... the performance of our truck's OEM Pioneer entertainment system has left much to be desired from day one .... its a prime example of a piece of equipment in which they try to included so many features that none of them excel .... since we got home from South Dakota it has totally failed .... its technology is such that it is doubtful it could be repaired and even if it could, the expense would be prohibitive .... two weeks from today a new Sony system is scheduled to be installed .... the main feature of our current system that a new install must include is control of our truck's backup camera .... the installer we spoke with said that would be no problem .... now packing begins to take our camper to the NC State Fair Campground later today where we plan to spend the next three days with our camping club

I lived on the north side (go Pirates) but visited the park many times. My mom and dad met at Lake Coeur de’Alene on July 4, 1945.

Morning, finally Fri., 59 now and mid 80's later.
Saying we'll be back to the 90's for highs this weekend and next week.
Going to take the grandson to the fair this evening.

59º now but hitting 80º this afternoon and clear. Going to work on figuring out my chronograph and maybe hit the range for a short bit. Need to get some mowing done before the weeds get out of hand.

64 this morning. Close to 90 today and predicted to be back to mid and upper 90’s next week. I did my mowing couple days ago. Cut down one tree and trimmed limbs with the pole saw yesterday, got them all drug and hauled off. Now I’m drinking tea and sore all over.

OMG! Carol has been opposing a move by our Township Board to give themselves draconian powers, even
replacing a court of law in fining residents, attaching fines to taxes, and then if that doesn't work, getting
a lien on their property. They already can do all of this by going through the courts, but they wanted to set
themselves up as the court. The problem is they often go after residents they don't like, while they and
friends are committing the same infractions with impunity. Not fair! Also none of them is qualified to be a judge.

Carol held two informational meetings on her own time explaining what they were doing and last night the
Town Board held the Town Hall meeting expecting to have the residents approve their plans.
So many residents showed up that the building capacity was soon exceeded, so they opened all the widows
and crowds gathered outside all the windows. Their plans were soundly defeated! I think the ratio was at
least 10 to 1.

Folks, this is America. This is how it's supposed to work. I am very proud of her for all the effort she put in to
this. We had a difficult time getting to our vehicle to leave as everyone want to shake her hand and thank
her, and after we got home the phone kept ringing with more people thanking her.

That's how it's supposed to work! Congratulations to Carol. Right now it's 78° and the humidity is coming back at 90%. I broke a pretty good sweat walking the dogs this morning around 7 a.m. I just had cereal, toast and coffee this morning. I survived the urologist yesterday and don't have to go through that again until next year.

Nicely done Carol!

50 heading to 70 with high humidity this morning. Funny since we have had no rain for days and the last rain was just a sprinkle. Nice to have moisture content in the air for the fire fighting efforts around the area. Poor neighbors who are having a new well drilled are not having a bunch of success finding much water. There at 380 ft and only getting 1.5 gallons. Interesting this new well is in line with ours and only about 500 ft away. We’re at 350 ft and get 7+ Gpm.

Last full day of my wife’s cousin’s visit. Today we’re taking her to a local orchard community. Currently it is peach season and we plan on enjoying a nice slice of peach pie. Yum.
