Got shot at by a Skunk!

Post by BrokenolMarine » Mon Aug 29, 2022 10:00 am

We are fine. :D

Took the dog for her regular evening ride in the Polaris Ranger. It's our thing, once around the block, about four miles or so. As we are on the last leg down the side of the hay pasture fence, I see a kitty coming down the side of the road. As we get closer, l see it's NOT a kitty but a polecat. :o As we draw near, he looks dead in my eyes and stops.

We pass beside him and he spins away turning to face the ditch, butt toward the road. He lifts his tail, and knowing whats coming...

I stomp the gas  ... And look in the rearview mirror.

I see him standing on his front feet, tail pointing straight up...

Missed me.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Tina said he didn't fully miss and sent me back out to spray off the Ranger...
A scrub brush and dawn so the garage wasn't skunk funk this morning.

Sound like you dodged a bullet or spray on that one. Sneaky little devils.

Pass them all the time around here. Never had one try and spray a moving vehicle. It was an overly aggressive action. I did not go back and ask him what the heck his problem was...

Must have been a bad day for him. Maybe his girlfriend kicked him out.

I see two skunk road kills within a mile of me. Glad it wasn’t me.
