Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Still too hot here but at least the days are getting shorter so not getting really hot until after noon. More of the same predicted until the second week of Sept. when they are predicting temps in the 80's.
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
If the forecast is to believed we will make it to 60 today and it should be the 3rd day for the month without rain. Cant remember the last time we had consecutive dry days, After waiting for months I am going to try and burn some piles of timber that I have pushed up.

Moderation to normal Temps makes it tolerable...chance of rain Monday Tuesday so maybe drought will continue creeping away....coffee is good right now....no incoming artillery rounds... no illegal migrants hiding in the bushes... so all in all a pretty dern hood start to a day... best of luck to everyone else out there...

Fog/Mist 52°F 11°C
Humidity 100%
Wind Speed Calm
Barometer 30.12 in
The airport this observation is taken at is just four miles away, yet as I look over the lake the sky
is clear and I see no fog or mist.
Coffee and cookies.
Carol is taking on the Town Board again. She rented a room at a library and held a citizens meeting last
night. The Board is trying to give itself power to be Judge, Jury, and Executioner. They want to be able
to levy fines against anyone they don't like with no regress without spending thousands to take it to the
State Appellate Court. No other board in the state has this power and she plans to stop it. They already
use their power to harass residents they don't like. It gets really personal.
There were a lot of supporters at the meeting. Life is never dull around here.
I'm going to drive to the other side of Minneapolis and get the Grandson today for a couple of days visit.
We haven't seen him for a few months so we're looking foreword to it.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
already a busy morning .... took our Sportchassis to have it safety inspected .... needed to do so in order to get renew its license plate .... scheduled it to be taken in to have the big engine fan that failed on our return drive and a couple of other minor issues .... we've slowly started unpacking the camper, this is a process we are in no hurry to complete .... 73 under a clear Carolina Blue sky with 90% humidity and little to no chance of rain
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Woke up to a nice 56 and thankfully we had some rain last evening. Along with a bunch of thunder and lightning. Nothing on the local news this morning so no new fires. Dang that rain felt good and the air smells so fresh this morning. High is 90 so it will be somewhat humid today.
My neighbor needs a new well and has the location selected and is waiting for the drilling company to get there. They requested that the area where their trucks will be parked for the drilling be mowed as the brush is pretty high and can catch fire from the exhaust systems. My neighbors don’t have the ability to mow the brush and asked me to do it. I’ve been waiting for some rain to dampen the brush so I don’t start a fire myself and today is the day! Happy for that as I could just see the drilling company show up and leave because of the brush. That would be awful.

What kind of actions are they levying fines for? Seems that legally they would have pretty limited authority. If it can be proved that their actions are of a personal nature it sounds like it's time for a good lawyer and some personal injury lawsuits.cooperhawk wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 8:32 am

For instance, if you are a Uber driver and you park your vehicle at your home that is a violation because you are not allowed to operate a business from your home. Petty crap like that.
The board is run by a bunch of petty loud females who are basically bullies and think everyone should do as they're told. One is retired sixth grade teacher.
Their last meeting Tuesday night ended up in a cat fight between three females that ended with two walking out while the male members sat there stunned.
They would mainly use it against folks they do not like. Carol would make a lot of money defending folks against them, but we don't need the money, and she feels it's just not right.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
I’ve been resupplying my empty tool drawers and cupboards with garage sales. I recently bought a ton of baking and serving dishes. They are in the dishwasher so no picture.
These are files and drill bits and a pry bar I bought. Rifle not included. Everything was made in the USA except two dishes made in England.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
another beautiful 70 degree morning in central NC .... the major downer is, 96% humidity .... good chance of thunderstorms late today and overnight .... no plans to leave the homestead today, unloading our camper continues .... biggest thing is taking our Davy Crockett Smoker/Grill out of the camper's basement and setup in the garage
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Gene, you like garage, yard sales? Here’s one you might like. I worked in Gadsden several years ago. It was always a big to do getting ready for.

60 now heading to only 78 and breezy. Perfect as today is the charity Sporting Clays shoot and other than the wind looks to be a perfect day for it. I guess the wind will just add to the field aspect of Sporting Clays. First time for me and I’m excited to give it a try.
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Nice little break in our heat wave but it's supposed to be back to 102 on Wednesday. Looks like a couple more weeks of hot before we get back to more normal September temps in the low 80's.Hatchdog wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 9:40 am60 now heading to only 78 and breezy. Up for church. Coffee cookies.
Man, when it rains it pours. It rained all night and it looks like we got three inches so far.
They're predicting more T-Storms this afternoon as well.
I'm taking the Grandson back today. His graduation present is a gaming class computer with all
the goodies. Happy, happy, happy. He may be autistic, but he know every little detail about
computers.

69º now up to 87º with some rain possible. Have to start mowing as soon as the dew drys. Burned my brush pile and have enough downed branches to create another one. With the heat I will probably be lucky to just get the grass mowed.

Morning 70 here in central W TN this AM, and a high of 91 later.
No rain today, but the next couple have 41% and 53% chances of some.

70 this morning with sunshine. Got the grass cut yesterday just in time to get 1-1/4” rain in about a 2 hour period. Looking like low 90’s this afternoon.
