Our Morning Coffee and Weather

Well this is the week for the big filp....as in flip the temp. and humidity reading around from one to the next,,,,still feel the same.
This morning at 10 AM 78F with 94% humidity and tomorrow 94 F with 78 humidity. Just cut the small area of grass with push mower 15 minute job and soaking wet! This time of year mostly useless for much outdoor stuff. Yeah I know it is around 100 other places or flooding someplace else and guess what I have here is as good as it gets .

Right now, it's 88° at 10 a.m. It's only supposed to get up to 96° today but I think it will get a degree or two higher. Had my eye injections this morning so my vision is a bit blurry. I've got to take my Harley to the shop. I thought putting some fresh gas in the tank would solve the problem but riding it this morning was evidence that it needs to be serviced. I just had cereal and coffee this morning.

Overcast and 54F with 88% humidity. Winds from the north at 8 mph. I’m having motivation issues this morning even after my third cup of coffee.

62 when I got up, the warmest morning yet. Forecast is for 100 today for me and 102 for the folks in Spokane. That probably will be 105+ for those living in the downtown area that traps the heat. Hot like this through Sunday and then next week we are looking at highs in the 80’s. That will be nice.

My poor neighbors well is going dry. Last year they had a cistern installed due to low flow and now this year even with the cistern they are struggling for water. They have a very small lawn so aren’t using much for irrigation. They had a flow test done and it was terrible at .2 gallons per minute. Yesterday they had a Witcher come out to locate a new well. The Witcher told them that the area near the main road into the community has a nice water table. Makes sense as my well is located in the area he was talking about and I never have a problem even tho I’m watering 15,000 sf of lawn. Fortunately they can tap into this supply but unfortunately the cost and the time delay to get a well drilled is horrible. 12-14 months out for a new customer but fortunately this company installed their cistern last year so will give them priority. My well is 350’ deep so if they drill that deep I can only imagine how many 10’s of thousand of dollars that’s going to cost.

Wow, I feel for your neighbor. Hoping we never have that problem at the cabin. Although ours was drilled many years ago, we had to go 720 ft for .5 gps. $$$. Back then it was $7.00 or $8.00 per ft.

Right now it's 86° at 9:30 ish a.m. We got a brief shower yesterday. Maybe the grass will turn back to green from the current brown. Our humidity is 74% and the high is supposed to get to 97°. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee this morning. I've got a bit of work to do today.

From what I’m told the wells around here all have plenty of water. My septic and well didn’t pass inspection the last time it was sold so they installed a new well pump and put in a new septic mound system. Sad because the folks only lived here for three months before an illness in the family forced them to sell.

I share a well with my neighbor. When they tested it they pumped 7 gal a minute for over 8 hours before the pump set at 320 ft ran out of water, it was back up to around 20ft within a few hours. We use don't use it for irrigation, some outside use but it's minimal. Total cost back in 1986 was $10,000, hate to think what it would be today. Pump is still going strong at 36 years old but it may be on borrowed time at that age. I hate to think what it will cost to replace it, they used 20ft galvanized pipe so will involve quite a bit of labor to remove it. When a different well company did my other neighbor's well several years later they used coiled black plastic pipe which I'm sure would be cheaper and easier than galvanized pipe.

Good morning, no wells out here, were on city water.
The water in this area has a high iron and sulfur content.

Woke up to some rain this AM, they've been predicting for the whole week.
It's 73 here at the moment, and shows 84 for the high.

Looks like another beautiful day in store. I got a lot of yard work done yesterday and should
get a lot more done today. I need to mow out back and trim some shrubbery.
We have well water and our last pump was put into the ground in 1977, and replaced in 2000.
It's pretty deep and the new pump is stainless Steele. The water is heavy with iron, (imagine that
in Minnesooota), so we have a large heavy duty softener and an RO system for drinking water.
I think the pump replacement cost was about $1500.00.

Might hit 90 today. Rented a Bobcat to clean out the pens around the barn. Winter prep. 20 big round bales coming next week.

Woke up to 62 with a forecast high of 102. Continuing to see 102 again on Saturday and Sunday. Then next we’re expecting highs in the low 80’s. The winds are changing from the south to the north, thanks Canada for the cool down!

Probably just going to be a run around day as it’s too hot to do anything outside. We had a gas kicker installed on our boat and it is expected to be ready today. The dealer is over in Idaho north of Coeur d’alene so we’ll be making an Idaho shopping run. (Lower sales tax and cheaper gas) Probably hit Wallys for coffee and Cabela’s just to give the pup an outing. Cabelas is very tolerant to customers bringing in dogs. Gives Trey some people interaction.

Despite the heat lately it’s still very green around here due to the wet cool spring. If this keeps up without any rain it will dry out quickly. No substantial fires here in eastern Washington State so far and hopefully that will continue.

Just a few degrees hotter over here, got up to 106 at my place yesterday. Got up fairly early to set some sprinklers before it got too hot. Have to run to town for a few errands then back to my AC for the rest of the day.

The hills around here have lots of dry grass due to the wet spring. Newspaper said we're likely to have a shortage of firefighters this year due to the state's requirement that they be vaccinated so hopefully no big fires this year although that's not very likely.

Good morning, 72 earlier this morning with a predicted high of 95. Little higher chance of scattered showers than it as been. We did get about a 15 minute shower yesterday. But we still need a good soaking rain. Hope everybody has a good weekend.

It's supposed to be a really nice day. First of all we are to meet with my graduating class for
lunch at a small town restaurant, and then probably spend a bit of time at the county fair which is
in progress. Then this evening we will attend a class reunion at my old high school with a dinner and
program. It should be fun. I graduated high school in 1958. I'm old.

Morning was 73 when I got up, it's cloudy and overcast.
Headed towards 84, I have a funeral and a Birthday party to attend today.
