Cimarron 1871 Richards revolver Oct 15th

Post by RanchRoper » Sat Oct 15, 2016 4:16 pm

At the range shooting some plastic jugs with my Henry and put my last 5 rounds on an 8" splash target at 15 yards with my Cimarron 1871 revolver. One hand, standing. Their ok, the kick still takes a little to get used to. 45 Colt pistol speaks with authority.
Had fun as always.

Glad you got to shoot that beautiful revolver again. Looks like you have the grip figured out.

Nice POIs on that splash! :)
Got a Q for your style of shooting. What's your thinking/purpose behind shooting one-handed?
Always inquisitive.....

I looked at your targets and it looks like gun is rolling in your hand and by putting your little finger under the bottom of your grip will stop the up and down stringing . When I target shoot a SA gun I also put my thumb behind the cylinder stop plate to control the roll too or your pulling the gun down off the target to look at before bullet is out of barrel .... I hope this makes sense .....

This is the 1st and only target I shot with this gun .

TGR: thank you for the observations. I will make sure I do it. I'll take all the help I can get! Much appreciated! 25 yds is impressive. That's my goal to work up to.
