Greetings Fellow Long Gunners

Post by Bish1309 » Thu Oct 13, 2016 10:41 pm

Just picked up my first Henry today and thought I should find the family.

I brought home an H001 in 22lr. I got the smaller caliber to start with so I can take it to my local indoor range. They allow up to .45 caliber inside and that is only for pistols. Plus, I want to get my grandson introduced to target shooting soon and this caliber should be good for him. However, the length is good for me.

This is my first long gun. My other toys are pistols in 9mm and I love to shoot.

Looking forward to some great conversations and learning lots.

Congrats on being a new Henry owner! And the H001 is a great rifle to introduce to your grandson, too. Enjoy.

You're going to be getting a Big Boy soon. .357 is great for target shooting, and smaller big game. Cheaper to shoot than the .44s and 45-70s. I did it backwards. I got the .357 first. Then I picked up the H001 to take some of the wear and tear off the Big Boy.

You have great prediction skills. Knowing my lack of will power, I'm sure that'll be next.

It's great to have a "lack of will power" when you're a Henry Lover!! ;)
BTW, I've had two models of the Henry .357 rifles....they are very smooth, accurate, and much fun to shoot.
