Any 1972 High School grads here?

Post by fortyshooter » Thu Jun 02, 2022 10:24 am

This month with mark 50 years since your graduation!

On this date June 2 I graduated. I was part timing while in my Senior year at a local Cable TV station in Program Production which turned in to a full time deal after graduation. A few pictures of that time....I'm standing on the steps in the wild striped pants!
Great times back then!

1971 for me so your photos look very familiar. I didn't go to my HS graduation, was short a few credits due to too much partying and working close to a full-time night job. Had to pick up some credits at our local community college to get my diploma.

Yep the partying was hard to avoid but if my school work was done good enough and no late work that evening I was at the Shoney's drive-in or other hangouts.

Don't know what the kids do now-days. I will occasionally drive down my town's main drag on a Friday or Saturday night and it's deserted. Back then there were kids at every drive-in and parking lot.

Same here Dave. We used to go out cruizin all the time. Of course that's way before gas turned to gold.

I remember when we could put a buck's worth in the tank and you got around 3 gallons but also remember that I was working a minimum wage job at a A&W/KFC and I think I was getting around a $1.40 an hour. I was a cook so I didn't even get tips.

How did 50 years go by so fast. I went to my 25th reunion and didn’t recognize anyone. Maybe if I had known their parents and grandparents they might have looked more familiar. :D
Come to think of it there were twin sisters who were very pretty in my class. I did recognize them, still pretty but I am certain that their enhanced breasts did not graduate with the class.
The summer of 72 was definitely the summer of love for me. Married the love of my life in December. I am trying to convince her that the gift for 50th is a Henry. ;)
Load on Sunday and Shoot all Week.......okay it's a Mare's Leg I will reload on Wednesday. ;)

I didn't seem to pay much attention to the 30-40 and 45th years but 50 got my attention. I went to the 15 year reunion.

Didn't go to my 50th due to Covid. I graduated in 1971. That's me second row, third pic from left.

Heck it was an entirely different era. Most all of us had filled gun racks in our pickup trucks parked in the school parking lot. We never had a thought about it. We never knew when we might want to hunt after school or just go plinking. We just used our knuckles if we had a disagreement.
