Someone was shooting last night

Post by Sir Henry » Tue May 31, 2022 8:31 am

Last night off in the distance I could hear someone shooting around 10 pm. They shot for about an hour and from the shooting rhythm I would say pistol. Yesterday my nearest neighbor stopped by to ask me if I heard him shooting and I said no. He was shooting a rimfire pistol.

Most people here are either cousins or uncles or related in someway. I went to a Memorial Day service at the cemetery yesterday and was introduced to a lot of people. A neighbor has taken it upon himself to introduce me to a lot of people. The first thing they learn about me is I’m from Seattle, the second thing is I moved because I didn’t like the politics. The third thing is I like to shoot. Upon learning that everyone welcomes me. Instantly the conversation goes to hunting and it doesn’t matter who asks. It can be man , woman or child.

Moving to Wisconsin has been like moving back to America. The best part is they accept me as one of them.

It was a tough decision for me and one I don’t regret.

Congratulations Gene. I'm glad the community you are in are so welcoming.
It's been my experience that country folk are very similar where ever you go.

Only if you wear a cheese head hat!
