Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Morning 63 here now in central W TN, with a predicted high of 77, and a good chance of an afternoon shower.
In fact the next couple of days look like they'll be wet ones.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
It's that time again. Babies in the woods.
Our Barred Owls have a nest right over our house and every year produce from one to three owlets.
Last year we only saw the one and again this year I just saw one sitting on a limb looking in our
kitchen window, but before I could get a camera the blackbirds chased it away. They sure do hate
owls. It will probably hang around for a few days and then move on.
Here's last years, this years was sitting on the same branch.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Coop, happy to hear the good report on Carol. Thumbs up here!
41 heading to 66 with partly to mostly cloudy skies predicted. Currently we have a light fog from the good rain we received last evening and again overnight.
Probably head out and do some trimming in the treed areas I mowed the other day. Then later when it dries up I’ll mow the lawn. Life here is a non-stop party.

Rain started yesterday evening and will be most of today also. Nice cool 60's which is a great change from mid 90's over the weekend.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Another day dawns. Got a good report from the doctor yesterday. He said I would live until I die. .. no, actually he said he didn't see any issues with anything really .. just keep on doing as I am. Sure, I might get hit by a bus today and splattered, but I'm living in ignorant bliss for the moment anyway with nothing specific to stress about.... hope as much for all you others out there. Coffee up and see what your day brings!

Light Rain 48°F 9°C
Humidity 100%
Wind Speed NE 13 G 16 mph
Folgers and a bagel with cream cheese.
It will be a rainy day today. That's OK, we need the rain.
Got the pool opened yesterday. That's right, the pool. It's a grandchildren magnet so we
maintain it.
I have to go to the city this morning for RV parts. It's been in the shop for several weeks
waiting for my friend to have time to work on it. He finally did yesterday. I told him there
was no rush.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Rain cooled 64° this morning headed to a high of only 81°. That's about 10° cooler than it has been. Just had cereal and coffee this morning as I got a lot of work in yesterday. Seems like I either have not enough or too much work.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
End of May and still have to pull out the sweat shirts. In the upper 50's to 60's today full overcast/clouds with on and off misty drizzle all day.
No real sunny and dry until Saturday if you are a weatherman believer!

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
50 degrees this morning when I got up at 5:00. That’s pretty warm but the cloud cover came in overnight and kept the temp up. Today was supposed to be our first 70 degree day for the year but now the forecast is 69. I can live with that.
Playing golf today for just the second time this year. Been too cold, windy and/or wet to get very excited about golf. Then tomorrow with a forecast of 75 my wife and I are going fishing for the first time on our boat. We’re just going to a lake 45 minutes up the road and are planning on trolling for Kokanee. The Koke’s in this lake are smaller than on Lake Roosevelt (Upper Columbia reservoir) but hopefully it won’t be too crowded as we are in a learning curve with our set-up. First time fishing with downriggers and that dang fish finder is still a mystery to me.

Another rainy day but the weekend looks great. Highs in the 80s.
Folgers and a bagel.
Not sure what today will bring yet. There's always plenty to do, just not too inspired today.

Spring is finally here. 80s today.
Folgers and a bagel.
I'll do yard work today as the next few days will be busy. Tomorrow we will journey a 100 miles
to my family cemetery to decorate for Memorial Day. Actually it's a small town cemetery that
has many of my family ancestors and my Brother and Wife buried there. Also my parents. Dad
was in Patton's 3rd Army in WWII. His brother Leslie and his wife, both WWII vets lay beside them.
It's an annual pilgrimage.
Then Sunday we'll be back in church as Carol is now well enough.
On Memorial Day I will join with about twenty other vets in our VFW Post and we will do honors at
13 cemeteries. We will have the rifle squad, which I am part of, the flags with honor guards, the
Post Commander who will speak, another member will do "Flanders Fields", and the Women's Aux
who will lay wreaths and of course a bugler who will play taps. A schedule is published in local
newspapers and a crowd always awaits us.
This may be my last year as there are now a number of younger members ready to take up the torch.
Speaking of that, some of you may know that I'm on the Holding Corp of our American Legion Post
and we are in the process of building a "Veteran's Village" of 18o apartments and things are going well.
The problem is I have been nominated to also serve on the Finance Committee and the Executive Board.
I am flattered, but I'm also about burned out. I'll be 82 in a few months and I'm getting tired. Carol and
I discussed it last night and I think I'm going to say no. She said it's entirely up to me, but I'm tired.
