Im right there with ya Moetur. I hate airports and the BS you gotta go thru to fly is more than I care to do. Ill drive and if I cant get there by car I guess I just aint going. Im feeling better today and each day that passes. Ive been off the bike for three weeks and I know its going to be some work to get back to where I was after being sick.

Morning, finally Friday, 73° here now and headed towards 90° with a 2% chance of rain.
Gonna ride them scooters to work again today.

32 heading to 57 with a sunny morning turning to thunderstorms this afternoon. BREAKING NEWS There is a rumor of us seeing 70 late next week. This will be the first 70 degree day of 2022. Also a new record for the latest 70 degree day.

Today I plan to do some mowing in the non-watered areas and continue to get the boat organized. We invested in new rods and reels and a bunch of new tackle for trolling for big rainbow and Kokanee. It’s fun to sort it all out and get it put away. I transferred s little bit of tackle from my old boxes but most of that stuff is very old and not what I think would be attractive to fish due to age and odor.

Sunday is supposed to be a nice day with light wind so we’re going to take the boat out and get some hours on the motor and learn about the fish finder. I’ve never had this technological stuff before so I’m a rookie.

From the low 50's to 77 F today. Thunderstorms predicted.
Coffee in one of the scout mugs this morning.
My quick trip to camp came and went this week. It was a solo mission with work being the only thing on the menu. Assembled the new couch, installed a ceiling fan with light, found an exact match and changed the locks and a few other odds and ends. Once home I had a pickup bed full of cardboard to burn.

At 6:30 a.m. it was 78° with 90% humidity. I walked out the door and it just plowed me right in the face. You would think after living in SE TX all these years I'd be used to it, but NOPE! It's currently 83° at 9:00 a.m. Just had cereal and coffee this morning. I got out and voted early in our local election and got some gas on the way back. It's $4.19/gal unleaded now. It had gotten down to $3.46/gal unleaded a couple of weeks ago. I had a half tank so just topped off so I didn't feel the pinch quite as bad. Got to get to work now.

I have a 350 gallon bulk tank that I use for snow plowing, tractor work, lawn mowers, ect, and it was nearly empty so I called
to have some regular delivered. The quote was $4.04 which is cheaper than at the pump, but it still hurts. The problem is they are
saying it will be higher by August, so fill her up I guess.

our Tarheel Traveler Camping Club is once again spending a long (Thursday - Sunday) at the NC State Campground === https://campgrounds.rvlife.com/regions/ ... round-9022 .... its hot, really hot .... 94 with a heat index of 99 .... last night heavy thunderstorms with hurricane force winds moved through just north of us causing downed trees and power outages ... we got heavy rain and strong lightening/thunder .... the big event for this weekend is the Got To Be NC Festival === https://www.gottobencfestival.com/ .... in addition tonight (Friday) the Carolina Hurricanes have a Stanley Cup match at the arena which is on the Fairgrounds .... with the temp, not many folks out and about .... today is a great test for camper AC's

Yesterday we broke a record set in 1942 (90°)
1st cup of joe is down, and sausage eggs and toast are next. Off to buy the Wife a battery operated string trimmer. I use the stihl fs9 gas, but it's to heavy for her. Today is my radio check in with the USCG radio net. Yesterday I talked to Russia, Italy, and New Hampshire.

39 now with beautiful sun streaming thru the trees and brush. Looks like paradise out there. Had a big rain/hail storm yesterday and everything is wet and shiny. Haven’t heard the predicted high yet as our local weather folks sleep in on the weekend.

Today I’ll finish the mowing I started yesterday. I have a large area that was still pretty dry due to a large number of trees that keep the rainfall from the ground. Yesterdays hard downpour did a good job of soaking this area so today’s mowing won’t be in a cloud of dust. (Picture Pigpen from Charley Brown)

Then I’ll finish the boat preps I didn’t get even started yesterday as we’re heading out tomorrow morning for a cruise. We have more storms predicted for this afternoon but the boat is inside so…let it storm!

I'm going to town this morning for seafood. Every two weeks a refrig truck comes up from
Galveston, Tx. with fresh seafood. We usually get shrimp, crab, and Redfish.
Then I guess I'll start mowing.

It takes a while Coop. Im just starting to feel like I might have some energy returning. It really zaps it outa ya. Im thinking getting back on the bike will be slow recovering process. Been off of it to long. Our big storm passed through. We just got some rain and a few mixed flurries here. Mountains got some snow. Its 39 right now headed to the mid 50's. Im gonna mow later when it warms up.

It really does. She was snarly this morning and my guess is she isn't feeling very well yet. This is rough stuff.

I just got back. I picked up 3 lbs of Jumbo Shrimp, 1 lb of lump crab, and 1 lb of Louisiana Craw Dad Tails.
What we get for seafood here is usually the farm raised stuff form overseas. There is a huge difference
in getting wild caught, so I don't mind the inconvenience of going there on Saturday morning, or the extra price.
The Shrimp and Crab come right out of Galveston Bay.

I never got tested Forty but both my step daughter and her husband had the rona and I got sick right after returning from my trip to Wisconsin to help Gene. I then went to my sisters house in Seattle after dropping Gene off in the eastern part of Washington state. When I left Seattle I stopped at my stepdaughters in eastern Washington. We were all fine while I was there it was after getting home that I got sick. My symptoms were the same as the step daughters and I was feeling like hell. Knowing whether I had it or not wasnt important to me as I dont care. Jake put it perfectly you cant put the genie back in the bottle that crap is here to stay. It will change faces regularly just like the flu does.
