Boomer to the range
Boomer to the range
Brought my single shot 45-70 to the range today, shooting 53 gr of 3031 behind a 350 gr bullet. A definite attention getter off the bench, but also very accurate out to 100 yards. Shot a couple of one gallon jugs filled with water, and they exploded satisfyingly. Well worth a bruise on the shoulder.

Re: Boomer to the range
Great fun Centaur! I once got run off a range from firing my BFR .45-70 revolver...think it rattled some teeth!
Re: Boomer to the range
Back in the day when I had a Marlin 45-70 the first thing I did was put a slip on Limbsaver pad on it. Still left a mark.
I bet those water jugs were impressive.
