Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Well its supposed to be 75 here today and I had planned a bike ride. So much for that as I still feel like crapola.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
I've seen them a hand full of times. Always enjoy the shows even the WWII planes that put on an exhibition beforehand. I always wanted to learn to fly but never seemed to have the time or money.Hatchdog wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 9:01 am34 with sunshine today. First morning above freezing for several days. Nice today, rain tomorrow morning and then nice again on Sunday.
Good news as the big air show at our local Air Force base (Fairchild) is this weekend. The Thunderbirds will be here to put on a show. Before retiring I worked right next door to the airbase and as I was outside for a good part of the day I used to watch then practice. Been to the show itself many times so I won’t fight the estimated crowds of 150,000 this year. First time in three years the show will be held.
A bit cooler here this morning at 68° and don't really know where it's headed to for this afternoon's temps. I'm sure it won't be as pleasant though. Cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast. I've got a bit of work to do.

Aaahhh, and a lovely morning it is. Storms are past and the forecast is for nice weather for the near future.
Folgers and cookies.
I've got yard work to do today. The shop is waiting on parts for the RV so it's still there.
Al, I didn't know you were still feeling poorly, or as they used to say when I lived in Virginia, feeling Puny.
Hope you get better soon.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
With my time in Army aviation and then the FAA I have flown in the cockpit of many many different air craft, fromShakey Jake wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 10:38 amI always wanted to learn to fly but never seemed to have the time or money.

the Cessna 150 to the B747 and even the mighty B52. I of course have many hours in they old Huey as in VN.
I was offered flight school three times and turned it down three times. The reason, you have to love it to want it.
To me it was a job and I didn't love flying all that much. Of course getting shot down once didn't enhance the idea.
The bottom line is that it takes a lot of time and money to have a pilot's license. I'm retired and I haven't flown for
over twenty years now. I like to take life low and slow.

Comfortably in the 60s right now and supposed to hit 80 with rain starting at noon and going all night. Have to get out to the garden and place the plants I bought Thursday before it gets muddy. May end up going back to the LGS to put a CZ 75 Omega on layaway. I don't need it but heard so much positive about it that I figure I should get one while I can.
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Go ahead Ernie get that CZ. Its the only double action pistol I can shoot worth a darn. All those other tupperware guns are a no go for me. Love the CZ

73° this morning and headed toward 90°. A bit lower temp than yesterday. Just had cereal and coffee for breakfast. Going to run some errands later today. I've got to get some more Dewar's and go by the LGS to see what they may have in stock.

Carol is still sick and I'm just waiting my turn to get it, but not yet.
I need to put the yard fertilizer down today. Funny, I fertilizer the lawn and then
bitch about mowing all the time. Oh well, it will look nice anyway.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
sure hope your misery passes quickly
we were up early this morning so as to be able to attend our youngest grandson's 8:30 T-ball game .... we thoroughly enjoy watching those kids play .... saw something this morning that I've never seen before, a base runner wearing his batting helmet turned backwards ..
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Get well wishes to BigAl, Carol (coop), Coop’s grandson and all others who are feeling poorly right now,
34 overnight with a light rain as expected. High today is supposed to be 51 with maybe some thunderstorms later this afternoon.
Our poor pup got bit or somehow came in contact with something that is not agreeing with him. Yesterday we were running around (with him) over in Idaho and his face swelled up to the point he could hardly see out of his eyes and his snout was nearly twice the diameter as normal. We stopped at a Wallys and picked up some Benadryl for him. Last night the swelling went down but he’s itching like crazy. At 3:00 am this morning we had him in the shower (walk in with a handheld fortunately) and he seems to be doing better. This morning he is still itching but not nearly as much as last night. Why do dogs always have their issues on Friday afternoon right before the vet closes for the weekend?
I wish I would have thought to take a picture of him with his swollen snout, he looked so pitiful it was almost funny.

I guess that's the cool way to wear your cap. I've never been a big hat wearer but I know guys that I've never seen with out their baseball cap on. I was coming out of a 7-11 one day and a guy pulled in on his motorcycle, took off his helmet and then put on a baseball cap just to go in the store.

Thanks Al. I had just talked myself out of buying another pistol and now I have to consider this again. It is hard to be a responsible adult sometimes when I have to do all the work of taking both sides in a decision about guns and tools.
Hope you recover soon.

Another hot day today. Currently 71° but headed to the mid 90's today. I plan on going to the range sometime today. Just had cereal, toast and coffee for breakfast.
