I told my friend who will be in charge of my final wishes to make sure they give her the gold from my crowns either before or after they cremate me, I probably have at least $500 worth of gold in my mouth. Have to wonder how often it just becomes a bonus for the cremator or embalmer.

Re: covid
When my Mother had her teeth removed for dentures they gave me the gold. It turns out dental gold is'
not worth as much as pure gold. My guess is they alloy it with other metals.
Anyway, after she passed I sold it. It was kinda creepy keeping it around.

Re: covid
I sold one a few years ago and think I got around $60, I believe it was around 14 caret. I have a couple of recently replaced ones I need to take over to the pawn shop. From what I see online a 14 caret molar at today's gold price could be worth as much as $100. All eight of my molars and one pre-molar are gold so they should be worth a decent amount.
I hate to think how much I have spent on my teeth over the years, I have one tooth that had 2 crowns and then had to have a implant and crown that alone cost over $4000 (ins. paid ½) . I'm afraid that one of the two crowns I recently had replaced is going to need a root canal so my share of those 2 crowns and the root canal will be over $1500. I've had a couple of people tell me dentures are a very poor replacement for real teeth so I guess it's worth it.

Re: covid
Carol was still pretty sick last night but she was up and around anyway. Whatever she has, it's nasty.
last year and got implants and plates. I can now eat anything I want and am much happier, but yes, if my teeth were not worn down like that, it would be better. Old age does that to you.
It depends, my teeth had worn down to the point that food got stuck between them and was painful. I finally had them removed

Re: covid
So Carol slept in this morning, which I think right now is a good thing.
We did find out that it is indeed Covid but not as severe as some folks have had it. She says she's feeling better and is
at her computer practicing law in her night gown. I hope she doesn't overdo, but that is her nature.
She and my Grandson have had no contact for months so I'm pretty sure she didn't get it from him. In fact we
haven't been in contact with anyone for quite a while, so I am at a loss as to where she got it.
I'm just hoping that I don't get it.
Well, there was that Mother's Day Brunch last Sunday which our daughter and her family joined us at, but no one
else was sick, so...........

Re: covid
Well, yesterday afternoon she had to go back to bed and slept most of the day. Then last evening
she spent a couple of hours watching TV with me, and then back to bed.
She's up this morning and making sausage and tea. Says it hurts to swallow but she's hungry. Good sign I think.
No temp and Oxy levels are good. She's quit grumpy but I think maybe on the mend.
I talked to our daughter yesterday afternoon and found out our little 7 year old Grandson is not feeling well either.
I sure don't want what she's got.

I wish everyone the best. Covid isn’t any fun. I think I had it while I was in Arizona and not posting. All I did was sleep sleep sleep.

Granddaughter is feeling better and will go back to school on Monday. Her team won their second game in regionals. Knocked off the number 3 seed. She is real bummed that can't be with them. Play the number 1 seed next week in Greenville. According to some inside info ( her dad ) they are beatable.

Re: covid
Got my second booster shot yesterday, sounds like we might be having as new surge with a new variant so thought it would be a good idea. I would say less than 10 percent of people are wearing masks in the stores now, myself included. Don't if it was because of the masks but other than a very mild case of co-vid I had back in Dec. 2020 I haven't even had a cold. I usually would get a cold a couple of times a year.

I have a whopper of a cold right now. Spent the day doing fencing, hopefully the fresh air helps get rid of it.

Re: covid
I haven't wore one through the whole ordeal and won't, I rarely get sick.
Couldn't tell you the last time I missed work or anything else for that matter because of an illness.
Felt bad last June for one day, ran a fever and had little energy, up the next morn.
Had a slight fever that morn, but by lunch gone and I was up playing with grandsons and never missed another beat.
Not Vaxxed either and won't be.

Re: covid
I can understand. Everyone's body is different. What works for one, may not work for another. I had a doctor tell me that some people fair better by not getting a flu shot. A lot of things are not a one size fit all thing. I think that some people lose sight of that. So for me, it is to each their own.

Re: covid
Carol very very sick. I took her to the ER last night and they confirmed Covid and gave us some prescriptions.
The pain killer they had at the hospital, but I have to go get the other one this morning.
She is a very difficult patient in that she is a denier and had all kinds of meds she purchased online. She at
first refused to take the meds prescribed by the doctor, but after a horrible night she is now ready.
She has a severe sore throat and has lost her voice. She is congested to the point that I am really concerned.
Now I have to wait for the Pharmacy to open at ten.
The junk she bought online did not work.
