Sounds like .45-70 is the preferred caliber, Hospitaler!!

Thank you!

In response to the question "How it stacks up?" I really don't know. I just shipped the All Weather 45-70 back to Henry. I was trying to clean it prior to taking it to the range for the first time. The bolt will not come out of the rifle. The bolt actually wedges between the receiver and the hammer preventing it from coming out. The hammer is flat against the tang but still not enough clearance. My Marlin's bolt just slides out once the lever is removed. Called Henry and they said a gunsmith needs to see it.

Welcome from Indiana, hospitaler and sorry about the problem with your new Henry.

Look forward to hearing some range reports when you get it back.

Visited your state for the first time on vacation last summer. Beautiful state and we had a great time.

Funny thing happened yesterday. I was notified I had won a drawing for a gun at my rod and gun association. I exchanged the prize for a Henry Big Boy in 45 Colt. This one's bolt slides out like its suppose to. Funny world. Now just waiting to hear about the 45-70 All Weather.
