Returning to Ephrata
BigAl52 left his home a few hours ago and should arrive here in Wisconsin sometime tomorrow. On Thursday or Friday we will head west to Ephrata, WA so I can pick up my Outback and teardrop. It’s been a long journey to find a new home and I’m anxious to get everything here.
I can’t express how much I appreciate Al and his willingness to drive out of his way to pick me up. Al and Jim have both helped me make my move easier and in some way even possible.
By this time next week I hope to be pulling into my driveway here in the wonderful state of Wisconsin.

Which way are you heading west. I90, I94?

Thankfully you can stay east of the Cascade Mountains. Have a safe trip and what a great guy Al is to help you out. Give a honk and a wave as you pass thur Spokane.

Re: Returning to Ephrata
That seems out of the way. From where you are I would think you'd go west it I35 and take it south
to I90. Then you could stop at Exit 70 and we could have coffee and BBQ at the McDonalds Truck Stop.
I live ten minutes away.

Re: Returning to Ephrata
See, you could hit I94 west of Eu Claire, take it west to I494 and south to I35 and then south to I90.
That takes you around the east end of the Twin Cities and avoids most of the bad traffic.
Exit 70 is just south of Lakeville and is a large truck stop with multiple hotels and eating places.
By that time you're already out in the sticks.
I'm buying.

I'd love to have a recording of the conversations during that trip! Y'all be safe now here?

Re: Returning to Ephrata
I would like to stop however taking I-90 all the way adds 262 miles. We are close enough maybe we could meet some other time. I plan on getting some camping in this summer.cooperhawk wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 10:33 amThat seems out of the way. From where you are I would think you'd go west it I35 and take it south

That's too bad. My thought was that I was offering a shorter route.

Re: Returning to Ephrata
Oh, I understand now. You're talking about I94 to Billings and then I90.
I was thinking you'd pick up I90 in southern Minnesota and go west.
Right, that is out of your way.
Another time my friend.

Re: Returning to Ephrata
Not ready to give up yet. As you come into St. Paul on I94, just prior to the beltway, I494, there is a Cabela's on the left.
Right next door is a Chicago style food place, Portello's, that's just 45 minutes from us and we could meet there for lunch.

In fact you can park at Cabela's and walk to it.
I'm still buying.

Re: Returning to Ephrata
I thought it was shorter too till I maquested it. I’m not fond of the Twin Cities in rush hour.cooperhawk wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 2:07 pmThat's too bad. My thought was that I was offering a shorter route.

Yes we can do that. It’s right on our way and I would like to meet you.cooperhawk wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 3:31 pmNot ready to give up yet. As you come into St. Paul on I94, just prior to the beltway, I494, there is a Cabela's on the left.
