Two rifles to shoot in
I scoped my Tikka 595 Continental 223 Rem. Varmint last evening and now need to sight it in. I scoped it with a 6-18 VX-2 Leupold that I got a super buy on at a pawn shop and it had never been mounted on a rifle. I also swapped the scope around on my CZ 452 American 17 Mach2. I put a 3-9x40 Nikon on it on it for this squirrel season. I set the parallax for the distance that most woods shooting for squirrels in the early season is done. I may put this rifle with some ammo up for sale soon as it just don't get used enough with squirrel season coming in to late and to close to other small game season only a short time later. I have a few guys who want the Mach2 because it is a Davidson's model that has the CZ 527 checkering pattern and the Pachmayr rubber rifle pad that the standard American doesn't have. Here is the way I have them set up for now.

Nice looking rifles. The CZ is a nice rifle. Those added features are nice.

Very nice. I've heard a lot of great things about Tikka but I don't know anyone locally that owns one. Would love to give it a try some day.

The Tikkas are very nice rifles. They are Sako owned and they use a few cost cutting ideas building them. If they didn't hold the price down to be competitive Tikka buyers would just buy a Sako instead. I never owned a Sako yet that would out shoot my Tikkas I have owned or still have. I had to sell a few Tikkas during rough times that I wish I still had. Find the load they like and they will shoot very well.JCN wrote:Very nice.
