Our Morning Coffee and Weather

It's already 82° here and headed towards 90° today after the clouds burn away. Cooked powder biscuits, bacon, corn beef, eggs, gravy and coffee for
for Easter breakfast. I think the family is well sated. Going to do a bit of work and thinking about going to the range but may not. We'll see how it goes around the house this morning.

32F and snowing pretty hard. Going to 40F today.
Coffee is in the fire dept mug today.
Easter dinner was yesterday at step son's. His girlfriend can cook!
Not much on the plate today.

our string of beautiful spring days has come to an end .... 47 chilly degrees on its way to 54 with steady light rain .... our day will pretty much be centered around taking care of our 6 year old grandson whose appears to have come down with a cold

Prior to the formal dinner we had an Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by Carol. They all had great fun searching
for plastic eggs that contained money and candy treats, while I held court at the kitchen table with a
couple of daughters. On the table were a variety of small snacks. There were deviled eggs, pistachios, cut veggies with a
cream cheese dip, and small red and yellow peppers stuffed with cream cheese with some relish mixed in.
Now, here's the kicker, our youngest daughter makes something called "Cowboy Candy". It's Jalapeno peppers cleaned
out and sliced. Then she adds the ingredients that makes it so good. We had small bowls of cowboy candy, diced jalapenos,
diced onion, and horse radish that folks could add to the deviled eggs or stuffed peppers. The big hit was the
Cowboy Candy. Myself, I love it. I put it on crackers with cream cheese for a late night snack.

Here's the recipe. It's not hot at all. The process mellows the jalapenos and you just get the flavor.

The first picture is of my Grandmother, my brother Dave and my cousin Bill. They're all gone now.
The second picture is Grandma, but at the head of the table is my Father with myself sitting beside him.
These picture's were take more than seventy years ago. I'm the only one still alive.
This old table is a living memory for me.

35 now and if the sun comes out as promised we may see our first 50 degree day in a few weeks. But right now it’s overcast so……..

Hoping to finish up my lawn project today before more rain comes in tonight. If so I’ll hit the lawn with some fertilizer and let Mother Nature water it in. Been too cold to turn on the sprinklers and hook up hoses.

Love these old family pictures. Makes me want to go downstairs and dig out some albums. Nice history on the table which makes the pics even more meaningful. Most of us on here can appreciate the clothing, hair styles and mostly the eye glasses worn in your pics. Even seeing your pics brings back fun memories for me. It certainly was a different time then…

Nice pics coop! It was mid 60's and low humidity (a rarity) this morning. It's already 71°. Yesterday got up to 89° and almost hit the predicted 90°.
Just had cereal, strawberries and coffee this morning. Trying to play hookie from work but I need to get started. Perhaps after I get started, I'll get in the mood.

no shorts today, back to jeans .... 39 very cool degrees on its way to 57 later today .... no rain in sight .... slow start of the day, not even Folgers is flowing yet .... not much on tap for today

39° sunny and windy. 1st cup of coffee is done. Sausage egg sammich is what's for breakfast. Made some repairs to my gas pressure washer, found some stuff in my shed that's been missing since our move. Hopefully the weather stays dry for awhile so I can begin staining the fence. Truck needs a bath, but not sure that will get done.
Almost forgot the treadmill, my morning radio check ins on 2meters, and then my daily reading of the Good Book. Cheers!
