Crazy weather this Winter. Broke the record for most snow in 1 day by quite a bit, 16.5" to 23.3". Last night we broke the record for latest snowfall. It was also a lot of snow, around 14". Supposed to be mid 40's today and in the 50's tomorrow so I'm not going to bother taking the mower deck off and putting the plow back on the Cub. I don't need to go anywhere until Friday or Saturday and won't have any trouble getting the Ranger out of the driveway. Will be a few days before I'll be driving the Miata.

Don't like the snow down here but this late wet snow will definitely help with the mountain snowpack.

Dave, out local news was all over the snow dump in the Wenatchee area. Sorry for you folks, you have had more than your share of winter this season.

28 here with a skiff of snow overnight. According to the morning news south of me got hit harder. They showed video of a fire truck on it’s side in the ditch on Hwy 395 north of Spokane. That’s only about 10 miles from my place as the ole’ crow flies.

Hoping to get out and do some work on the lawn here in a bit.

Thats alot of snow Dave. Step daughter lives in Naches. Havent heard what she got. Windy here getting tired of wind. It has blown almost every day since we have been home.

18F and snowing. Maybe four inches in the last 36 hours. I haven’t ventured outside yet to check on drifting snow in my driveway. I might be snowed in………again.
At least I went grocery shopping yesterday so I’m no longer out of coffee.

Gene, you need a good old pickup truck with a plow. Then you can plow out the neighbors as well.
Damn, I ran out of Gin last night. I know, not coffee, but I do like my Martinis in the evening. Had to
substitute Vodka. Just not the same.

I think the locals complain more about the winter than I do. I mentioned that to a neighbor and he said just wait till you have been here the full winter. I arrived February 16th.

Warm again this morning. Right now it's 82° Made bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast. Went to the range this morning with the .22 Hornet. I'll post in range reports.

That's why I suggested that you keep the RV. I feels really good to leave it all behind and go south for even a few weeks.
Snow fences do help, but they don't always work either. Depends on wind direction and so on.
We just came back from Florida and I much prefer Texas or Arizona. Not nearly as crowded, and the people are
friendlier. We like either the area around Galveston, TX, or Tuscon, AZ.

The local paper had some more info on our April snowfall record.

"In the last 87 years, the National Weather Service has recorded a little more than a dusting of snow for April in Wenatchee."

"In April 1935, the water plant recorded a record month of snowfall: 0.5 inches, according to meteorologist Miranda Cote. Its counterpart uphill, called the experimental station, has never recorded more than a tenth of an inch in April."

"Combined with snowfall Wednesday, the new April record at the water plant is 5.4 inches and 13.1 inches at the experimental station, according to Cote."

"Not to be outdone, Mission Ridge Ski & Board Resort on Thursday reported receiving four feet of snow in four days. In a Facebook post, it called the snowstorm “one of the biggest ever to hit Mission Ridge.”

With the added snow, Mission Ridge announced it will open its slopes Saturday, April 23-24 and April 30."

Gosh am I glad I have a yard that needs mowing and cattle off hay a d on grass instead of deep snow! Dodged a bad storm last night.. had a little hail and torrential rain but missed the tornado... sounds like some folks south of me got hit... all in l for my homestead a good morning to suck coffee and be happy... just got my mother's half mile driveway blade two days ago from the last gully washer... guess I know what I will be doing today... but oh well... better than being blown away to OZ .... have a good one fellas

Supposed to hit high 40s today with SUNSHINE instead of rain. I think it is safe to take the blower off the lawn tractor and put the mower deck back on. Grass is growing now. I almost pulled the trigger on an Ariens zero turn mower yesterday but decided to think about it some more. I have lusted after a zero turn mower since I saw my first one in the eighties.

51° and light rain. It's going to be cloudy all day. 1st cup of mud is down, and sausage eggs and toast for breakfast. Iittle sore from digging holes with the post
the digger. Today is radio day. I will check in to the USCG Net at noon EST on 14.300 MHz. (The Mariners frequency). My daughter listens to me on her computer.

18F and overcast with wind. High today is expected to be 33F. I attended Good Friday services and nobody had anything good to say about the weather.

27 heading to 45 and overcast. Poor kids Easter egg hunt may get snow today. Yesterday was actually pretty nice with sunshine and not much wind. Got the back yard de-thatched and all the dead grass sucked up. Focused on the back yesterday as this is the dog’s kingdom and he was at doggie daycare so I was able to work back there without his “help”.

Weather permitting I’ll finish the front and side yards today.

I almost pulled the trigger on an Ariens zero turn mower yesterday but decided to think about it some more. I have lusted after a zero turn mower since I saw my first one in the eighties.

I too lusted after a zero turn so I purchased a Toro zero turn two years ago and, I LOVE IT!
I had a Snapper rider for years but this is like sitting in an easy chair and having fun. It's like a carnival ride, well almost.
One thing I learned, if you turn down hill on a slope that baby will take you for a ride!

Getting a late start today. Seems like that happens more often than not anymore. Anyway, a warm morning again at 7 a.m. Our dogs kept us up most of the night. The little beagle must have had an upset stomach and kept wanting out to eat grass. That kept the other restless getting in and out of bed most of the night. Just had cereal, strawberries and coffee this morning. Finally in the workroom and it's almost 1 in the afternoon!

we awoke to a beautiful Easter morning, 57 degrees on its way to 74 with rain forecasted to move in tonight .... breakfast has come and gone, Folgers still flowing .... yesterday we staged an Easter Egg hunt for our grandkids .... today should be a quiet one

The Easter bunny showed up overnight and left us a little bit of Easter snow. I checked but did not find any fresh bunny tracks in the snow.

Currently 34, haven’t seen the weather forecast yet but I would expect our high to be in the mid 40’s or so. Supposedly it’s going to warm up to the 50’s this week but I’ll believe that when I see it. On and off rain this week. We had a nice March and a cold windy April so far, must be backwards year.

Going to a fancy place in downtown Spokane for a brunch with two neighbor couples today, that should be very nice and tasty too!
