Henry Axe in the house

Post by Sir Henry » Tue Apr 12, 2022 2:05 pm

I drove into Medford to get a notarized application for my certified birth certificate to get my Wisconsin Drivers License. I had to make an appointment for 11:30 this morning so I had two hours to kill.

Okay time to hit Main Street and Uncommon Grounds for a latte. And what was two doors away? The Main Street Gun & Knives.

After looking around for a few minutes I asked if they had anything that would shoot 410. To my surprise he said he received two Henrys just yesterday. Long story short here is an Axe with my Mares Leg and Ruger Charger on my kitchen island.

5 + 1 of the 2 1/2 shells. It only shots the shorter ones.

Love the gun shop, bar and coffee shop in a row. My kind of small town for sure.

Well done Gene. I know that will fill a niche quite well. Let us know how it works.

They were really nice to deal with. I told them I was a Wisconsin resident with Washington ID and he made a phone call and then told me no problem. It took about two hours to get approved so I left and got my birth certificate task done and when I returned he said it was approved.

I was amazed they were discounting it. I think it was because they didn’t have any ammo for it. In 2012 the ammo shortage didn’t include 410. Everyone had it and few people wanted it so I bought and bought.

Not yet. Tomorrow is garbage day plus it’s been rainy with high wind. I want to cut up some cardboard to pattern it.

Looking forward to your report. Tina wants one.

That is a great addition to your .410 collection Gene! What will be your target loads? I have some .410 but nothing yet to shoot them in.

Mostly Remington 6 shot. Maybe 1,000 rounds of it and another 1,000 of the others combined. I gave my friend about the same amount when I gave him my 9410.

Latte, yeah. It’s funny that Uncommon Grounds is a popular name for coffee houses, we have 4 in the capital district all owned by the same family.

Was looking around at prices on the net for the Axe and shocked with 1500 and up asking prices!

I paid $959 plus tax for an H018BAH-410 with an MSRP of $1,132. No shipping or dealer fees. $1,001.20 out the door. Plus I got a free Main Street Guns & Knives t-shirt which I’m wearing now.

It's amazing the fluctuations in pricing of these .410 Mares legs. Just bought a blued version for $875 OTD.
