A little work at the range today.... Finished !
Spring is really moving in fast so I wanted to get on this little bridge over a drainage ditch project along with putting down some gravel on some low areas of a trail. Bridge will make it easier to get my mower to the creek area and also keep my feet out the mud after a rain. The two plank boards are just laying across the beams and not attached yet. Gravel will be banked up to ends of bridge as a ramp.
The grass is starting to kick in too! Plenty of work to do.

A couple of photos of my little bridge and some of my rock work. I look at those rocks now and I wish I could still take on projects like that now, that was all done close to 30 years ago. I moved all those rocks by myself with a little help from a come-along for some of the bigger ones. Bridge is 4x6's attached to 4 buried pier blocks, have had a few spring runoffs and big storms that have come pretty close to topping it. The photo of the flooding is just next door to me but the banks there are a lot lower so the water does spread out more.

48 inch wide and 8 ft in length. Going to put in some 2x4 blocking in to tie the 4x4's together, spike it to the ground at 4 points and then come across with 2x8 planking.Sir Henry wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 10:09 pmLooking good! Got what I wanted done today before couple days of rain move in. Just have to dump and spread gravel on other side of bridge.
Little project turned out nice and my lawn tractor I keep there worked great with the small dump trailer. Due to cost of fuel and trailering the big Kubota down there the lawn tractor fit the job with my shoveling the gravel of course! Only thing is those little trailers take a lot of patience to back down a winding trail!!

I've got one of those as well and I no longer try to back it up. The wheel base is waaaay too short.fortyshooter wrote: ↑Wed Mar 30, 2022 6:07 pmOnly thing is those little trailers take a lot of patience to back down a winding trail!!
I just drive in, unhook it, turn it around, dump it and hook it back up.
I use it to patch our drive as well. Handy.

I've thought of getting a trailer like yours. I like mine with the 4 wheels and the front set that pivots so you can move it around by hand but it is impossible to back up, even going straight back you can only make it a couple of feet before it starts to pivot and once it starts there's no going back the other way.
Not the best photo of it but enough to see the front set of wheels.

Re: A little work at the range today.... Finished !
Put a removable pin in the front to lock the pivot point, it'll back like a charm..

I find my little trailer just right for the garden tractor. It has depressions along the rail for posts. I might add them soon and put larger tires on.
Nice bridge project 40. Stoning the path may take a while, but it looks great.
