62° and pcdly. Working on the 1st mug of coffee in the Gadsen flag mug. Haven't decided on breakfast just yet, still trying to keep my eyes open. Wind storm wasn't bad at all. I worked on radios and equipment yesterday, and did research on a new HF beam antenna. I did talk to a fellow ham operator that I talk to on a regular basis, and he lives in Slovenia. Cheers!

Rained last night then snowed on top of that. Currently 30 and still snowing; expected high of 40 and strong winds later. Packing to go to big city with granddaughter so she can get feeding tube reinserted (she has relapsed and is losing weight again), might be a slippery drive. Everybody have a great day!

So sorry to hear this my thoughts and prayers are with her.

Morning, got a little rough around here yesterday evening. Pretty windy some power outages, none here thankfully.
Blew the trampoline across part of the yard and flipped a swing.
Working out north today which is where is was worst.

over 30 tornadoes are reported to have touched down across south last night ..... early reports are beginning to show the damage .... that front is supposed to move through here today .... much smaller chance of tornadoes but a big chance of dangerous straight line winds .... this morning Blue Origin is set to launch its New Shepard rocket for the first time this year, as the company sends more passengers on short trips to space.... the local interest comes from one of passengers is a professor at UNC .... naturally, he's wearing a UNC cap along with a t-shirt under his space suit .... breakfast has come and gone, Flogers still flowing through a Luckenbach mug .... my project for today will be sharpening a bunch of knives

27F and high overcast. I awoke to a couple inches of overnight snow. This is from my back door. You can see just how close my range is to the house. When I say all I have to do is set foot out the door I really mean that literally.

Just watched the New Shepard’s flight. So incredible.

31 heading to 52 with partly cloudy skies. Looks to be a nice day. For me it will be full of a bunch of running around including a trip over to Idaho. Nothing like burning up a bunch of expensive gas. At least I can top off over in Idaho where gas is .25 - .30 cents cheaper.

50F going to 70 today. Rain is called for and it's very overcast. The snow is almost all melted away again. I hope it lasts.

I hear that. Shortly before Covid made everything so crazy I was starting to take a look at F350 diesels. I’m thinking now that maybe it’s a good thing I didn’t buy one. I was at the Ford dealer a few days ago getting my 250 serviced and took a look at the 350’s while I was there. No new trucks at all and only a few used. Prices were all in the 80K range for the used. If I was more serious I’d take a look at Dodge as I believe they can be found a bit less expensive than the Fords. My 250 with 50K miles on it will serve me just fine for many years but I sure would like to have more power for pulling my trailer over the mountain ranges out here.

Well, Carol offered to make sausage, eggs, and toast this morning so I had that too.

Diesel prices may be high but our Motor Home has a Caterpillar engine and I wouldn't trade it for gas. The torque is amazing
and I am happy to pay for it. Then on top of that I get 8 mpg towing a full sized Explorer. That's not too bad for a house
and garage.
The other advantage is the unit is built on a heavy duty Freightliner chassis and rides on air bags.
Nope, don't want to down size.

53° this morning on the dog walk. I didn't take a jacket with me because I hadn't looked at the temperature. It's been in the 60's. I got a bit chilled but not too bad. Just had hot cereal, toast and coffee for breakfast. The wife's car had the catalytic converter stolen in the middle of the night. She had parked on the street where we don't have a security camera pointed that direction. Got one coming in today to fix that bit of a problem. Busy day ahead.

well, the front that caused all of the damage yesterday is passing through our area .... frankly, its turning into being pretty much of a nonevent .... no wind to speak of, no lightening, light rain .... the pictures below were taken out our back door .... the best thing is, what little rain we've had has settled some of the pollen

My fifth wheel is 41 ft. It weighs 13600. I have about 200lbs of my stuff in hear and my wife has about 2K stuff in hear. I think the kitchen stuff weighs about 1500lbs by itself. I get 10mpg with the 2006 Dodge dually. Its not as strong as the new ones but it pulls it just fine at 60mph which is about as fast as I need to go.

I was up the road getting some work done on my Explorer yesterday and he had a yard full of vehicles with the converters sawed off of them. He had one on the hoist and I got under and took a look. The shame was how they cut the wires leading to them. This Chevrolet Pick Up had three converters and the sensor wires were cut right to the frame making it very hard to repair. One furniture store in town had three trucks with the converters gone. The police actually caught one of the thieves but and he had a car full of converters, but the court let him go because no one saw him steal them. A friend of mine who owns a body shop had every vehicle in their yard vandalized for them. 23 vehicles in all. It's a huge crime wave around here.

Seems the biggest thing to cause this is the cordless Sawzall. They crawl under in the middle of the night and in mere minutes the job is done and the salvage yards will pay big bucks for them no questions asked.

Yup, that's about right. When we get home I unload my stuff in an hour and it takes her a couple of days. I once provided a wheel barrow for her and it took seven loads.

Our rig weighs in at 36000 lbs. and we tow a 3500 lb. car. I drive 65 because that's what Ford recommends for towing an Explorer.
So 8 mpg doesn't seem too bad.
