I am using a Lee APP with decaping die. I have the decaping kit coming, and I think that will eliminate most of my issues with the norma brass. I made it through all 800 pieces and was able to get them primed. So, now I have almost 1k of 45lc, 400 38spl, and about 950 of 9mm to load.
Ohh whee! I hope you have primers for all those! :o

Yeah, I could see with that would present a problem.
I have a separate single stage press with a universal RCBS decapping die, works well with everything except 223.
I have a smaller universal decapper for it, I like to deprim before they go into the tumbler.

Randy, a buddy of mine just gave me a Lee Universal de-capping die. Ought to work just fine. Question, as I've not used one before. On my sizer dies, do I keep the stem in or remove it? Seems like it would work pretty smooth after the Lee did it's job. Thanks. I feel like a rookie again!

Either way is fine Tom, I've just left most of mine as they were.
The friend that gave me mine took all of his out, but I didn't really see the need to.
Mine will decap anything from my 25-20 up too the 444, I recently bought one for the 223.
Just so I could deprim before tumbling, that way I don't have to run the dirty brass through the sizer. ;)
That's it's main advantages, and what appealed to me.

Yep, I'll leave mine be. Be using it today. Thanks Randy.

For bottleneck rifle cases you need to leave the stem in place in order to engage the expander ball mounted on it. On RCBS and some other brands you could remove the decapping pin if you wanted. I agree with those who have said the .223 is a pain to decap. Mostly just because the .224 case mouth is hard to align with the decap rod when running it into the die. I would suspect this would be a problem with all .224 case mouths like the 22-250.

Take a look at the LEE APP. I've been very happy with how it works. I do recommend getting it's depriming kit to go with it over using a decaping die, or sizing decaping combo.

at the bottom are some video's of it preforming various tasks

Reloaded the .280 Remington I shot yesterday. 150 gr Nosler with 52.5 gr of RX 22 using CCI Benchrest primer. The performance with the IMR 4350 yesterday left me a bit underwhelmed at 200 yards. Hopefully I'll get better results with the RX 22.

My new decaping set up for the lee app arrived. no more using a universal die, or sizing die. I have to say set up is simple, and I hammered through 600 rounds of 40sw in about 20 min.

this set up will quickly decap 223 and 300 black out with out any issue. let me look to see if 308 and 6.5x55 swede will work. Yeup, it easily centers and decaps 308 and 6.5x55 swede.

After that last post i decapped about 300 556, and 100 or so 300 black out. I put the 556 through the primer pocket swaging tool (all had a military crimp)

I am impressed with both the app' decapping set up and its pocket swaging tool. It mad short work of both issues. It takes longer to feed the 4 tubes than it does to actually do the work
