Found some primers
Found some primers
My wife and I stopped into the local variety store in Deer Park yesterday and I did my usually disappointing visual sweep of the reloading components area. Lo and behold there was three different CCI primers on the shelf. I wanted more Lg. Pistol 300’s which was one of the three so my wife and I each bought the 200 limit.
Price was $5.97 and this store does not price gouge so I’m guessing this will be the new retail price. Last time they had them about six months ago they were $3.47. While I miss the .01 primer price it’s good to find some that aren’t .10 or more.

Re: Found some primers
It is not going to get any better for a long, long time. The prices are going to continue to go up as the inflation index does the same. We have to make a decision, stop reloading and stop shooting, or pay for the price for what we love to do. I know how frustrating it is for all of us.
As my grandfather once told me, "I don't mind biting the bullet, I just don't want to eat the whole damn gun!"

Re: Found some primers
I convinced that primers are made of unobtainium. I haven't seen any on the shelf in my local shops in months. The only ones that do show up, occasionally, are small rifle primers.

Re: Found some primers
I saw some a while back, but at $100 a 1000 I left them.

Re: Found some primers
Hey Vaq, you inspired me. Stayed up late last night watching some episodes of Dead Wood.
If you subscribe to True West magazine they had a great article on Bullock and Deadwood.

Re: Found some primers
It use to be the bullet was the major cost of reloading a shell now its the primer. I see 20ga shotgun shells on Ammoseek going up as fast as gas

Re: Found some primers
Stopped in the store yesterday for some tarps and they still had the CCI 300’s so I picked up another 200.
