I love the looks as well as the natural feel of my 1860's. Your conversion looks great and will be a bit easier clean up with smokeless. With my black powder revolvers I use my ultrasonic cleaner to clean the cylinder while I swab the barrel and action. Saves time and is efficient.

Thank GOD I don't live in Canada . There gun laws would kill me to not have a CCW permit or gun to protect myself . I would love to see you targets and see how the gun shoots .

Ya, guns-R-not-us up here in the great white north. Except for redneck Alberta, some BC and Saskatchewan folks, but that's about it.
I did post a range report from last night. Gun shoots great, can't say the same for the gunslinger. But it will get better. It's a little tight cocking and in the cylinder so I'm cleaning and oiling everything tonight. Apparently I just pop the wedge out, slide the barrel off, take the cylinder off and that's it. Once everything is lubed it should be fine. Likely been awhile since the factory put it all together.

It should have a date stamp to identify when it was built. The date code may be in the form of letters on the barrel and frame that translate into dates. I searched for the date of mine and discovered it was made well within a year of the time that I bought it. I was surprised...and pleased.

hmmmm...unless it was built in July 1871 which is stamped on the frame (might explain why it needs some lube) I cannot find another date on it. It must be hidden as they did a great job of making it look authentic.

It's here!

Cimarron 1871 cartridge conversion of an 1860 Colt Army. 8" barrel, 1 piece walnut grip. 45 Colt, same as my Big Boy. LOVE IT. Look for a range report tomorrow night. Took some quick photos. Check it out!
