Cimarron 1871 cartridge conversion of an 1860 Colt Army. 8" barrel, 1 piece walnut grip. 45 Colt, same as my Big Boy. LOVE IT. Look for a range report tomorrow night. Took some quick photos. Check it out!
Site seems to be OK. Load issue should be resolved now.

Re: New Revolver!
All I can say, RR, is WOW! Congrats --- and glad you had the fortitude to hang in to get it finally home!!
Very cool-looking revolver. I especially like the sight picture you showed us. Most of all, that walnut grip is beautiful.
Hope it's a great revolver for you, and that you enjoy it immensely!

That's a very interesting revolver. Good photographs. I'll be looking forward to seeing it in a range report.
I have a feeling it will work it's way into this month's photo contest some how too!

I love the gun ....
Did you need a FFL to get the gun since it is a cartridge conversion or is it still a black powder gun and no FFL needed .

Re: New Revolver!
In Canada it's classified as a restricted firearm, meaning lots of restrictions on what you can and can't do. My license has conditions attached so I can transport (in locked case) to my gun club, repair shop, gun show, cop shop and that's about it. No out of Province, but I could transport to the US border if I was cleared to cross for a trade show or match. Not sure what rules you guys have for FFL?tx gunrunner wrote:I love the gun ....Did you need a FFL to get the gun since it is a cartridge conversion or is it still a black powder gun and no FFL needed .

Re: New Revolver!
Guys, I appreciate all the comments and advice on makes, models etc over the last few months. I originally looked at Pietta but lots of you steered me to Cimarron-Uberti. I'm pretty happy with my choice and can't wait til tonight to blow some holes in the backboard! Thanks!!

Re: New Revolver!
The cylinder on the 1860 Army and Navy revolvers was engraved with a naval battle scene symbolizing a battle in the Gulf of Mexico I think I read. Since the 1871 Richards revolvers were built in the Colt factory from excess percussion gun parts in inventory, they had the same engraving.
