Super Bowl

Post by markiver54 » Sun Feb 13, 2022 10:36 pm

I admit, I watched the Superbowl. I have to say though that the little bit I watched, with sound, of the half time show was despicable. Turned the sound off completely about 1/2 way into it, yet was still disturbing anyway.
It is my opinion that the target audience is such that I am not a part of!...disgraceful!!!...and sad.
Sorry, just a rant. I needed to vent.

I can relate except that I don't really care about any of it If they played on the dark side of the moon I would be OK with it.

We watched and the game itself was pretty good, but the half time sucked! I always expect the commercials
to be entertaining but this year they weren't. In fact some were vague and we had to wonder sometimes
just what they were advertising.
I think the target audience is the 12 or 13 percent of the population that is black. Certainly not me.

Although sometimes I would just channel surf to it in recent years, yesterday I didn't watch 1 second of it. I told my wife that the half time show will probably be as bad as Nascar was last week. What happened to the old days? The real good old days?

The Super Bowl is usually overdone. Right down to the giant oversized logos on the field. For me it's all about getting there, the playoffs were amazing this season! Oh and my whole family worked for GM and I personally do NOT like the new electric Silverado - yuck

Funny you should say that.

I didn't watch the Superbowl, either; but on Saturday night, I listened to The Dark Side of the Moon in my recliner, eyes closed, heat and massage on, sipping Anejo, and enjoying the ride.

A friend gave me the album in mp3 format. I hated that each song ended so abruptly instead of easing into the next track like they should, so I strung all the songs from each side into two single mp3s with no gaps between the tracks. Much better! Now it sounds like the LP.

The recording engineer was Alan Parsons.

Watched some of it and then tuned out the half time part and then on watch Dirty Jobs on Discovery Channel. Tuned back in with 6 minutes to go in 4th. Was pulling for the Bengals though.

Probably my most favorite album of all time. I have two copies, (LP's) and some Alan Parsons as well.
Perfect way to listen too!

I don't know if the ad in the link below was national or just local .... it features 2 long time meteorologists on Raleigh's TV5 .... they are shopping separately in a local grocery store .... Meteorologists Elizabeth Gardner was going down the bread eye when a fellow pushing a cart with a child in it sees her .... he jumps to the conclusion that snow must be coming and starts panic buying bread .... in another part of the store a lady at the milk cooler sees Meteorologists Mike May ... she jumps to the same conclusion starts grabbing more jugs of milk .... for us it is really a funny commercial

Same here, but we watched the PBS series Around the World In 80 Days and then All Creatures. Tuned back with less than 2 minutes to go. Glad the Rams won.

Now that was the right way to enjoy the half time show. I thought the game was pretty even, but the half time show was not for me. I tuned to another channel.
