its proving to be an an ugly morning in part of central NC .... 37 degrees and steady rain .... its supposed to only get up to 39 and the rain is supposed to stick around until well after dark .... grocery and meds run to Walmart this morning was wet and cold .... glad to be back home with fresh cup of Folgers and watching "The Deep Six" a WWII movie staring Alan Ladd and William Bendix

Sure would like to get out of winter for a few weeks each year and I don’t want to pull my travel trailer this time of the year. Probably just a pipe dream but at least the dealer has indoor displays (it’s in an old Fred Meyers store location so lots of indoor square feet.

I'm with JE on the dealers being cut throat. We've purchased our last two motorhomes off of Craig's list and had no problems at all.
I myself would not buy new. The mark up is way too much and the depreciation when you drive out is awful. My Wife didn't want to sleep in someone else's bed, so I just went out and had a new mattress made for a few hundred dollars.

Our rig is an old Journey, a 2003 in fact. But the Freightliner Chassis is solid as is the Cat engine, so we just upgrade the interior the way we want it. No more carpet, hardwood flooring, flat screen TVs, you get the idea.

And one more thing, NO DEF! and no computer slowing me down because the DEF us low.

It was mid 40's this morning and has warmed up to about 60° at noon. Cooked bacon, flapjacks and coffee for breakfast.

We're supposed to hit 40 today. Maybe the deep freeze is over for the year.
Got the tractor out yesterday, chained it up, and moved a lot of snow out of the yard.
I need the space so I can back the motor home into the yard to load it up for the trip.
We have a fellow coming this afternoon to steam clean the downstairs carpet. We had
water get in and the room is mildewy.

20 heading to 38 with maybe some more sun today. Had a real nice day yesterday with sunshine and temps above 40.

Well the RV market is still in the sellers court. Stopped into the dealers yesterday and not only would then not come off retail price but offered a lower than expected trade value for my trailer. And this was for a 2021 model. Maybe next year, we’ll see what the market does. Probably just sell the trailer and buy a used motorhome but not right now, too much winter out there still.

It's hovering on the freezing mark. It was supposed to go above, but now it's probably not going to.

I need to shovel a path to the bird feeder so I can fill it. It's on the deck, so it's not going to be too bad. The birds are really hitting it hard.

The snow is too deep to rabbit hunt, all the snowshoes are up at camp. I ordered a pair from a fellow who makes them the tried and true way in a small New England town. They should be good for what I want them for. We shall see in about a month. Hopefully I will have to wait until next year to test them out.

I used to snowshoe a lot back in my younger days. One advantage of the newer style snowshoes is because of the pivoting shoe attachment you can go up a lot stepper terrain. Was out with a friend and I went up a pretty steep hill by actually stomping flat spots in the snow. My friend wearing traditional snowshoes would never had been able to go up that slope without me going up first. Was not easy though, took over an hour to make it up and coming back we bypassed the steps I made and slid down the slope in a about a minute. My snowshoes were a set of Sherpa's made in the 70's, I'm sure the new ones are even more advanced.

Missouri winters... last week single digets and snow..miserable.. and this morning before daylight already 43° may hit 60's today and Friday they say ... an improvement for sure... but sure a wild roller coaster ride.

Warmer weather is welcome and the next week looks pretty good.
We had a high of 41 yesterday and I took advantage and got the plow out. I figured that
if I plowed some of the snow off the drives and service road the sun might melt the rest.
I have a meeting today with one of the executives that want to build our American Legion
apartment complex. I'm getting a tour of a complex they built nearby.
I briefed the gun club on our progress last night while my Wife briefed them about the
contract between the Legion and the Gun Club. I thought I was retired, but this stuff
keeps getting me involved.

28 heading to 40….yep I said 40. Another nice day yesterday with some sun and 40……I could get used to this. The next several days are supposed to be the same. Sure hope some of this snow would melt off.

Backyard fence is supposed to be completed today and I’m going to have one happy pup.

35 degrees wit a heavy frost on a beautiful, cloudless morning in central NC .... they are calling for a high of 56 .... nice warming trend on tap for the next 3 days with highs in the low to mid 60's but temps are to take a nose dive back into the 40's over the weekend .... ham and eggs lead the way this morning, preceded and accompanied by Folgers .... routine chores on tap, nothing special today

Mid twenties going to the low forties. The sun is out fully and it looks like a nice day outside.

Coffee is in a Boy Scout mug this morning.

An early doctor's appointment meant coffee was a bit late today. Today's plan is to mount some battery lights in the closets. I ordered two different styles. Both do the same thing. They are supposed to be easily recharged and mounted.

Another mild day today so no real complaints from this old fool. Coffee is nice and hot.... no Russians on my border this morning getting ready to come piling in and shoot me.....definitely better than it might be... I will take it.... best to you all as well..

31 overnight, already up to 44, its supposed to get up to 64 later today .... similar prediction for the next two days .... sadly that trend isn't supposed to last, winter mix on tap over the weekend .... only thing on tap for today is a fellow to come by to give us a price on replacing our garage doors

24 heading to a whopping 45 later and if the upper level fog burns off maybe some sunshine. Been real nice the last few days and we’re hoping for more of the same for the next few.

So, my birthday is on Tuesday February 22 and my son sent me a text yesterday with the following. Pretty observant of him I would say…

He says that my birthday is on twos day (Tuesday) 2/22/22. What a smart kid, a real chip off the ole’ block.

It was about the same this morning at around 38°. It's a happy 72° and sunny this afternoon. Just cooked hot cereal this morning with toast.
Tomorrow is shooting day. Haven't decided what I want to take to the range. I'm thinking about taking the Marlin Cowboy 45LC.
