Darn near a heat wave. We're not below zero this AM.
Me thinks the cold wave is about over. The warm up is on the way and we'll be in the 30s next week.
This time of year Minnesotan's hold their Winter Carnival. Right now on the news they are showing
the ice sculptures in the parks. They even make an Ice Castle. So while the rest of the country
huddles in their lairs because of the cold, Minnesotans go out and play in it. Soon they'll be cutting
holes in the ice and diving in just to prove how brave they are. (They do it for charity).
I don't know who's crazier.

27 heading to 34, yeah a day above freezing. Maybe, we’ll see. The extended forecast calls for lows in the mid 20’s and high’s in the mid to upper 30’s. Hope so, time for spring.

Got a little running around to do in Spokane today otherwise I plan the get the pup out for a hike and enjoy the warmer day.

-30 just 24 hrs ago. +35 now. Weekend looks ok but windy. Will shoot some more black powder. Sounds like flu season ends this month and all restrictions lifted. Bye bye. Back to normal although none of it really affected my wife and I much anyway. We’ve always been anti-social!

35 under a partly cloudy sky here in central NC .... from the weather reports coming out of Texas where we usually spend the winter, we are kind of happy we couldn't go down there this year .... we well remember living through the "life threatening cold" spell they had down there a year ago .... Folgers and sausage. There is an old theory that what you eat first thing in the morning sets
your digestive system up to process that for the day. So, I eat a protein. I have done this in
the past and was able to lose quite a bit of weight, so I'm trying it again. Then for the rest of
the day I mainly eat whatever I want, I do avoid sugar and carbs, but I do eat some.
It will be a windy day with gusts exceeding 30mph. On the other hand it's bringing a warm front.
I've been putting out some corn for wild turkeys to help them survive this cold spell and I am a
very popular fellow in the neighborhood. I get flocks of up to thirty birds in the front yard.
The downside is, a lot of turkey poop.

thank you ... he's started when he was 7 and is now 13 ... the awards dinner is to celebrate the ongoing dedication and advancements of those in his school who have worked hard through Covid

Forecast is for 45 today and mid-40's all next week, lows right at freezing so hopefully the paddock won't get too muddy as the snow melts, the goats hate to get their feet muddy. Might have to get a couple of bales of straw for their pathways if it gets too bad. Hope not, a bale of straw used to be cheap, now they charge just as much for it as a bale of hay.

Light snow overnight made the roads very slippery, but no problem.
Got a little flue bug so I'm going to chill today. Stomach cramps.

Again no plans for the day and it’s still too cold and too much snow to do anything outside other than take a hike. The tree thinning project was put on hold for a few days as the masticator head had an issue but it’s repaired now and the operator showed up yesterday (Saturday) and finished up. I haven’t been all the way to the back property line but I did take a look down the hill late yesterday. I’ll go down with the doggy today and enjoy the view. Now he will start the neighbors property which should go pretty quick. Less than half the acreage I had done and not nearly as thick or steep.

But… the weather forecasters are suggesting we may see some low 40’s later this week. Just maybe spring may be busting out all over. Ha! Stupid groundhog.

It was 32 this morning on the dog walk. Right now about noon it's 51°. We're supposed to have warming this week without any rain so I'll probably get the car washed tomorrow. I've got some errands to run so I'll get that done while I'm out. Just had oatmeal and coffee this morning for breakfast.

Back into the deep freeze today, but 40 tomorrow.

I'll putz in the shop today, but tomorrow I need to get the chains on the tractor and move some snow.
It's a little cramped to get the motorhome back into the main yard.
I'm feeling better today but now Carol has it, whatever it is.

Dropping the pup off at doggie daycare today, his first visit in three weeks. He came down with a cough even tho he is completely vaxed. So we kept him in quarantine and then took him in for a booster. Sound familiar?

Getting a blood draw this am for next weeks physical then out to breakfast. Then we’re stopping in to a RV store and going to take a look at a motorhome we can’t afford. Sure would like to get out of winter for a few weeks each year and I don’t want to pull my travel trailer this time of the year. Probably just a pipe dream but at least the dealer has indoor displays (it’s in an old Fred Meyers store location so lots of indoor square feet.

They have a big sports and outdoor show going on right now at the State Fairgrounds. It too is inside. Would like to go but won't. The last time we went to a show there, we ended up paying a small fortune for a Hot Tub.

I've owned and used campers since the mid 60's .... while working with the NC Dept of Correction I spent about 10 years (part time) and going full time for over 10 more years after retiring from the DOC .... sadly, the RV business can be cutthroat and no where near as honest as the used car business .... if I could help in any way with info, don't hesitate to let me know
