Guten tag, from the great black swamp.

Post by damhans » Wed Jan 12, 2022 9:27 pm

Greetings from NW Ohio.
My first Henry was a H001Y I bought for the kids. They love plinking and hunting squirrels with it. I recently picked up this Big Boy in .357 Mag and added the Skinner barrel sight.

Good intro Hans. Welcome from Nebraska. What is the great black swamp?

A large portion of NW Ohio was once a wet-land swamp that was very difficult to traverse until the area was mostly drained in the mid 1800s. The name still stuck though.

Absolutely. I already reload for my Ruger SP101 and Blackhawk (it's why i wanted a Big Boy in .357). I prefer Missouri Bullet's 158 gr. coated semi-wadcutter and Alliant's 2400 powder.

The bullet and powder are solid choices. You're going to enjoy that combo.
