This morning trip to my LGS.......
Stopped in to see what they had in reloading and ammo this morning. The primer shelf was empty but did see quite a few 1 pounders of Alliant Power Pistol that works very well for me in 38 Special/357 Mag loads. I was down to one container and picked one up at $ 54 bucks....yes I know a bit pricey!
Looked at my container at home and I paid $ 24 bucks for that one at some point in time. Also picked up some CCI 22 Short Target rounds as they had a good stack of those. Lots of the CCI Quiets too but not much in standard 22 LR.
In ammo any 9mm.... SW40 or 38 Special shooters would be in heaven with a wall of that of various brands but no .44 or .45 Colt ammo to be seen.
Now I did see a small stack of .30 Carbine ammo Remington FMJ but it is now $ 44.99 for a box of 50. Glad I stocked up on that a year or two ago at the old prices!

Supplies are still scarce by me, with no primers in sight. My LGS had several different powders on the shelf including Power Pistol. He was getting $43 for a 1 lb can. The primers you bought, last week seemed to be fair priced, but now your LGS powder seems a little steep. I can't figure it out.

Must depend on the powder. I paid $43 for the Red Dot last week and what they had is now gone. Was good to see Power Pistol there.Headhog wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 2:37 pmSupplies are still scarce by me, with no primers in sight. PP is a very good versatile powder. Both Red Dot and PP can work for a lot of different calibers and loads. PP is one of my favorites for 40 S&W loadings.

The one shop I stopped in last week, his Accurate rifle powders were all $41.95 a lb. and a couple of the pistol powders, like H110, CFE pistol, a couple more were $36.99 a lb. No primers.
He had a nice Cimmaron Thunder in 357 also.

Re: This morning trip to my LGS.......
A week or so ago, I bought a pound of Red Dot to try. $32+ tax. Not bad. Can not believe the price swings from area to area. I thought sure powder would be more here in La-la land. Desert shoot tomorrow!
Re: This morning trip to my LGS.......
No powder no primers.. lots of 22lr at $6 per box of 50 so glad I stocked up before the circus arrived. Also lots 9mm and 223 at ridiculous price . No 45acp or 40.. the gun rack is overflowing with hunting rifles but no ammo for them

You know OB, you make a good point about rifles and no ammo, I remember this discussion ten years ago with anti gun groups. If you can't disarm the populace, then eliminate the ammunition making the firearms useless.

Re: This morning trip to my LGS.......
Need??
I don't have a real need for it, but
it would be a neat/cool addition to the stash.
Side note, saw a pair of those Wranglers with the bird's head grip last weeks also.
Stopped by Academy during lunch break today,
nephew was lookin for some 38's, none to be had.
They did have one box of 125gr. xtp's., he bought those.
So I'm going to load 50 for him and keep the other half.

Re: This morning trip to my LGS.......
Went to Wally World and Academy here in Corpus. The only thing Wally had was something I would have never guessed they would have in stock. 16 gauge shotgun shells. Academy had lots of 223 9mm ect. No 20 gauge only 12 gauge for 799 a box. Grabbed 4 for a guy I been shooting with. Went skeet shooting again today. Im not any good at it but its always fun to go shooting

24 gauge is used in Europe, I saw one when I was stationed in Germany, probably make a nice quail/grouse shooter
