14 heading to a high of 16. Down righty balmy compared to Roper and brm. We have a week of frigid weather ahead with lows below zero and highs in the single digits. Overall the forecast has improved from a few days ago and that’s typical for the meteorologist to have to deal with. I’m good with a forecast changing for the better.

Had an inch of snow fall overnight and when it snows while it’s this cold the snow is very light with little water content. Should be some very easy shoveling here in a bit when it gets light out.

High of 38º today. Thunderstorms with rain early this morning ending around 6:00am. That is unheard of for late December for this area. Oatmeal and toast with coffee.

Glad I have no snow yet... one of the warmest December's on record they say. That suits me. And it's still cool enough a good cup of coffee works well first thing in the morning...

Currently 4 degrees with a high of 15 forecast. Fortunately the Arctic blast is breaking up a bit so hopefully our temperatures will be more moderate that originally thought. We will still see a few nights with below zero temps but not as many as was predicted. A local online/radio meteorologist I follow is calling this event a “dirty” event meaning that instead of just clear skies there are some bands of clouds moving thru from time to time keeping the temps warmer than what was forecast a few days ago. While I like the “warmer” lows this means we may get some snow from time to time.

Not much on tap for today other than keeping the stove going and the Gonzaga Bulldogs NCAA basketball team has a game at 2:00. Weird time for a basketball game. Even weirder is the Washington State Cougars playing in a bowl game on Friday with a kick at 9:00 am my time. They are playing in El Paso and the original opponent the Miami Hurricanes had to cancel due to Covid. Now the Cougs will be playing Central Michigan whom I know nothing about. Just happy they will play the game!

Another unusually high temps this morning. The air conditioner cycled on and off during the night. Right now it's 77° and high is supposed to be 82°. Just had cereal, banana, and coffee this morning.

Taking my wife to big city for surgery, so woke up this morning to snow and a winter weather warning: -4 and snowing very hard as I drove her to hospital; -1 is expected high, wind blowing 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, so wishing everybody a better day than me!
