with winter on the way, it looks like today will be a good one to practice staying inside all day .... 40 when we got up, projected high 49 .... our area is in a significant drought .... bone dry outside when we went to bed last night .... pictures below were taken out our back door a few minutes ago .... the morning reports say we need much, much more rain to catch up but that isn't on the horizon

Kinda cold this AM.
We got about 5 inches of snow yesterday and then it quit and got cold.
I decided to plow this fluffy stuff this morning but may wait for it to warm up a bit.

Back to warm weather. It was 61° this morning at 6 while walking the dogs. Right now it's 66° and headed to about 75°. Eighties Thursday and Friday before another front arrives. Just had cereal, banana, and coffee for breakfast.

32 heading to 39 here locally and maybe 41 where the range is located. Might see some sun around mid-day but we have some pretty gusty winds in the forecast. Going to hit the range today to do some more work with the Ruger 22/45 and Single Seven and first shots with the Wrangler. Looks like Ruger day for me. The handgun range is pretty well sheltered from the wind so I should be okay to check groups. I’ve got five loads prepped for the Single Seven and today I’m looking for the most promising powder. The 22/45 I will run with several different types of ammo to see what it likes. Same thing with the Wrangler.

Having a normal PNW kinda morning and my favorite Cleveland coffee. Overcast and misting rain. Karaoke Holiday Party tonight so I need to rest my singing voice lol

I must be an early riser. Coffee good anyway.... a warm day ahead they say. Stuff to do.!... at least its stuff of my choosing. ... so, not starting of with any complaints..
I hope we all have a good one..every day is actually a shot in the dark as to what's going to happen, good, bad, or in between...who knew we were all such gamblers?!!....I would praise us all as fearless for forgoing out into the unknown every day.... but it occurs to me that witless might be closer to the mark than fearless .. but, oh well, what the heck...ignorance is bliss.... so head out and hope for the best.!... in this country ( happily) ., most days it goes pretty good....so stay postive and see what happens.... it's as good a plan as any....

I don't care if the official temp didn't fall well below freezing last night, it was really cold .... we awoke to a HEAVY frost (AKA Baby Snow) .... cloudless sky .... breakfast of eggs, tomato, sausage, and Folgers hit the spot - Folgers still flowing .... nothing much else on tap

Just plain ol' cold this morning. 33 air temp with a breeze makes it feel like 30 and figure in age factor and it really feels like 25 !
Warmer for the weekend though. Need to get down to the range and check things out again. Deer hunters out and about have the wildlife coming to our no hunt area. Even a black bear has been seen around our place!

We have several pounds of Salmon brined and drying on racks. Today I will smoke them. We don't do
a heavy smoke, just enough for them to be cooked through and a light smoke flavor. Then Carol
shrink wraps portions and we give them to friends for Christmas. We've been doing this for 25 years
now and folks always ask when the care packages are coming. Carol also includes home made toffee,
spiced nuts, and cookies. The neighbors respond with gifts of their own. It's a great neighbor hood.

26 heading up to 30 with an overcast sky. Yesterday afternoon the sun came out and man was that nice.

Today Trey is going to doggy day care to continue his exposure to other dogs. Last weeks visit went fine other than after an hour of playing and getting dominated by this one annoying dog (they have a live feed camera we can watch from home) he stepped out of the camera angle and laid down and just watched the activity. The guy who runs the place said this is pretty typical with a pups first visit. We’ll see what today brings.

38 on its way to 57 with rain supposed to move through around 5PM .... we are due to pull out shortly after noon for our last club camping trip of the year .... I have no plan to get busy outside until the temp gets into the 50's ..... breakfast is history, Folgers is still flowing

75° this morning at 6 while walking the dogs! Supposedly going to set a new record high today. There's a front moving through early tomorrow morning and it's supposed to be 20° cooler. No breakfast yet but will probably just have some cereal. Going to do some reloading today as I have no clients booked.

Well, well, well, we have heavy snow moving in today. They are forecasting up to 12 inches by tomorrow morning.
So, I guess I'll get the smoker put away and check the plow. I think I need a new battery for it.

Carol has a lot of requests for her care packages for sure. Sorry Jake, she's at her limit right now. One neighbor owns
a very large florist company and in return she always delivers Poinsettias to us, while two others make home made candy.
Another makes Norwegian pastries. I usually gain some weight over Christmas for sure, but it sure is good.

No snow here it was 71 overnight and up to 79 today and its a little windy. I have a second cup of 8 oclock coffee on the way. Good stuff

Gosh Al, all that sand blowing and it being so hot, I feel sorry for you. Are you getting sand blasted.

22 heading to 33 with a big storm moving in this weekend. Big snows and big winds in the mountains but down here in the valleys we’re not expecting big snows, maybe a couple of inches or so. My home thermometer has a memory feature and it tells me it was 17 at some point last night. Glad I wasn’t around to witness that, just in deep slumber in my warm bed!

On and off storms for several days then some really cold temps late next week. Maybe single digit lows. My son is moving on that Saturday so it could be a cold move. He has lots of help coming including……you guessed it, ME. Better clear and cold than stormy.
