Our Morning Coffee and Weather

Another nice day here in Hawaii…..uh well…..it’s 44 heading to 49 with maybe some light morning rain. Yesterday Spokane broke a 138 year old record for high temp registering a balmy 56……..on November 29th………

We will enjoy this pause in fall/winter weather for a few more days and then by the weekend we’ll be back to normal waking up to frost every morning. The ole’ wood stove is getting a break right now. All the snow is gone and the couple of ski resorts that opened last Friday have closed for now.

Nothing special for today other than getting outside and enjoying these temps while they last.

Getting a late start this morning. I had to go pick up my son from work. Got the dogs walked about 6:30, home to air up tires in the van, and then to get him. It was 46° when I got up and it's 60° right now.

Dogs woke me up before 6:00 this morning. Just had cereal and coffee. It was foggy and 51 on the walk. Should get up to 70.

Today's plan is to have the mower deck come off the JD and the blower go on. It's that time of year.

Yesterday was in the 50s, but today will only make it into the 40s. Heck, I'll take it,
it's almost December and no snow yet.
Maybe cut brush this after noon. Got some done yesterday.

Up real early this morning to take my son to work. Right now 54° and foggy. I'll not eat breakfast until the normal time. Eye injections this morning and I'm scheduled to get the glass replaced in the Mazda.

For the first day of the month I woke to 45° with a predicted 66 for a high, maybe 70ish tomorrow.

31 on its way to 57 .... very dry, state wide burn ban, little to no chance of rain for another week .... 70's supposed to move in Friday an Saturday ..Smile .. we plan to be out and about most of this afternoon

Another balmy day here in eastern Hawaii, errrr, I mean eastern Washington State. Looking at 57 for a high. Crazy We should be back to more seasonal temps by the weekend.

Made a trip to the range yesterday and I’ll report in the range topic. Today I plan to take advantage of the weather and do some raking of pine needles. I had the yard completely cleaned up and the mower winterized and put away. Then a couple of weeks ago we had a big windstorm which made a mess of my yard again. Then all that mess was covered with snow which now fortunately has melted away with this weather. I hate raking but I don’t want to get the mower out again only to have to winterize it for a second time.

We actually got a quarter inch of rain last night. We need it, really dry here.
We have Chronic Wasting Disease in the deer herd in our woods. Last Spring the DNR killed most of them
with night hunting and thought they controlled it, but yesterday out by our bridge I saw a doe that was
acting strange. Wouldn't run away even when I waved my arms and yelled at her. Also she was drooling
heavily, so I called the Fish and Game. They replied that all the Wildlife Officers were busy protecting
Biden who was making a visit, but they'd see what they could do. Presently two Deputy Sheriffs showed
up instead, and we went deer hunting. One had a tactical 5.56 with a scope. We did not find the deer,
but had a pleasant couple of hours looking for it. They were both professional and friendly.
Hopefully someone else will report it and it will be killed to prevent the spread of the disease even more.

Trying to make hay but weather just wont give me a window to do it.
Think it has been 6 months since we have had more than 3 days without rain. I have already given up on one paddock I intended to cut and put cattle on it. Forecast for the next 7 days

That is as good as it gets for the rest of the year looking at the 28day forecast, only 1 other day predicted to be fine and about 8 with less than 50% chance of rain but no more than 2 consecutive.
If I leave it much longer it wont be worth making hay so will probably cut it today. Almost certain it will get wet but if we get the rain predicted for the next month a chance i may be able to cut again towards the end of January and the weather might be more co operative .

On my second cup for the morning waiting for the sun to come up and stressing about what to do. 60 going for a high in the mid 80's that will be our warmest day since last summer with you guessed it a chance of rain.

Get well KMB…..sorry your feeling poorly.

46 heading to 49 with maybe some sun breaks today. Cooler more normal temps are to return over the weekend with maybe some light snow but nothing of note.

Today we’re taking the pup to doggie daycare for a half day to give him some exposure to other dogs. He could stay the full day but we’re concerned he will over-do it and wipe himself out. This will be a good trial visit. So, Mrs. hatchdog and myself will be going out to breakfast after dropping him off.

44 this morning but happily its supposed to get into the low 70's later today .... regular bacon and eggs breakfast, at least one more cup of Folgers .... nothing much on tap, may work on our Sportchassis later on today .... first up, wrapping Christmas gifts

Coffee and Granola. Maybe one Orio as well.
They're saying it will finally turn cold next week. We've been lucky so far.
Our son in law, his brother and step father all came out yesterday and we cut firewood.
He has a wood stove in his home in North Minneapolis and burns quite a bit. We cut and split about a cord yesterday.
It was a fun day. I have saws, a splitter, and a tractor to haul the unsplit wood to the splitter, and ten acres of woods.
At lunch time we all (including Carol), went to the truck stop where there is a really good BBQ joint.
On thursday they have the Big Burrito which you can have filled with any smoked meat you want. It's more than I can
eat, so I had the Brisket Reuban. In stead of corned beef it's filled with a lot of brisket and instead of sour kraut it
has their cole slaw. Along with spicy baked beans it was really good.
