Nov 21st, 2021 Frontier on the frontier

Post by RanchRoper » Sun Nov 21, 2021 4:24 pm

30F with a wind, pretty chilly this morning. Shooting my steel spinner target with the Pedersoli Frontier, .50 cal.
Windy too so lots of windage pondering today.
.495 ball
.010 patch
60 grains Goex 2FG

50 yds off hand.

Rang it a few times, missed at least 2 or 3....Good fun!

I have affectionately named my black powder rifle Widowmaker. :D ...might get a little brass plate for the stock... 8-)

Shoot safe, RR

Looks like the spinner held up to a good beating RR! What was the target distance?

Hope it doesn't make you a widow, though. :)

That was 50 yds off hand.
Ya it helps when I don’t shoot up the frame…

Hard to see that little spinner at 100 yards. Looks like fun wish I was there.

Again - great shooting - especially with iron sights in chilly, windy conditions. Here's a question - when you hit that spinner solid in the center of one of the circles, about how many times does it spin completely around? Might be tough to see with the recoil and smoke.

If I nail it right, it goes a half dozen times around. Hard to see through the smoke! That big lead ball whacks it good.
