Keep us posted. This is an important decision. We chose last year, and I love the location and property, but I'm thinking I wish we chose the 40 acres farther north with the 60 acres additional available. LOL. Isn't that always the case? Didn't even look at the house because of the additional statistics associated with the main town located nearby. (Crime Rates too high.)
Crime rates was a big concentration with me also. Some of the areas in Montana is high in crime with the biggest crime being bar fights. In a lot of the small towns it was the number one police response.

I still haven’t heard back. I’m currently packing almost every waking minute. I’m really going to be pressed for time. All my bragging about my ammo. It’s now a big pain to transport. The van is almost at weight and the van is only half full.
Good for you! Glad you are making progress. Have you considered putting some stuff in storage (not necessarily referring to ammo or firearms) and a short term rental? May be hard to find, but could give you some breathing room.

Never mind. I see that has already been suggested. Well, there is a thing called confirmation. And, none of us can see the future. Even though, it is good to live each day to its fullest. It is also good to plan for another day. Tomorrow is not promised. Yet, we can hope. At any rate, may things go well with your offer!

Gene, the present owners sure like stuff, kitchen is kind of small, but the real question has to be will your motor home fit in the green barn?

I can still gain a thousand feet an hour climbing. What I look for is can I live on the ground floor if I had to.

Just remember even a tough old bird like Elmer Keith had enough of Montana winters and moved to Idaho.

It's all good Mark! A year in Grand Forks toughened me up! Winter is nothing here to me.

……………..This is all I really need and this one would make a good base camp. A central place I could run the backroads from.

I closed on this property 9 months ago today. It’s everything I wanted and more. What surprised me was it was one of the least expensive properties I was looking at.

Not surprised at all. The western mountain states always have a steady demand for housing because people constantly want to move there. Keeps the prices high. By contrast, the rural areas of Wisconsin are losing population. Our winters help. Fine with me.

Fine with me too. I was ready for a change and I feel at home here. It’s has a small town feel. I bought a wreath today and this is the receipt. Most people here know it as the red house on the hill.

How nice to reside in a historical town landmark! I think the town is lucky to have you as well.

I grew up in Noxon and Trout Creek. Finding an affordable home where I could shoot wasn’t easy. You think of Montana as having freedom but many places have shooting bans and a ton of covenants conveyances and restrictions (CCR’s). Homes in Montana doubled and tripled in five years. I would have paid 80% of what I sold my home for in Woodinville. Here I paid 18% and ended up with a pile of cash.

Ya, I saw that in Whitefish. Toy'd with moving there once. After visiting, nope.

Hey John,

If you move to Wisconsin try to get close to Rice Lake. Then, when you are looking to broaden your horizon……you could get a job at the Henry plant. What do you think?
