Large Rifle Primers!

Post by Kissmybrass » Mon Nov 01, 2021 9:33 am

Gheeze I have powders, brass, three types of bullets and zero LRPs :-(
Making me crazy!!!!

I think I'm gonna go to the range, yell bang and just throw my 45-70 bullets at some 20 yard targets (betcha they shoot low and keyhole lolol) and then have somebody punch me in the shoulder for full effect.

 Good one KMB, I made a couple phone calls this morning none to be found around here either.
Glad I have a decent stash, if ya were a little closer I'd share a 100. ;)

Our LGS had several cartons of them. Too bad this stuff can’t cross the border.

I still have some, but everywhere I look, the well is dry.

Hahahahaha primer cartel! You can hide primers in anything. OK don't overthink that last statement.

I picked up 800 large pistol primers at a local Academy yesterday. They were out of all others though. Plenty of ammo on the shelves but not much in reloading supplies. They had a few Hornady bullets but nothing I needed and the clerk said they haven't had any powder for a year.

Our local Academy had some a few weeks ago, but at $7 per 100 I left them. But I do have a little over 4k at the moment. Had they been small rifle or pistol I would have grab the limit.

I don't have that many. I think 1800 with what I picked up yesterday. I've got about the same small rifle primers and maybe 800 or so small pistol.

You could join the Reloading Discord and set it to notify you when certain components, like primers, are available. There are state channels there as well, where you can work out trades with local folks or get intel on what is showing up on store shelves. Because of my state channel, I've managed to snag some bricks of primers locally, saving shipping and hazmat costs.
