Fog/Mist 45°F 7°C
Humidity 100%
Wind Speed E 3 mph
Folgers and cookies.
A dreary day coming up.

Not much else planned.
We did release all the details of our Legion building plan and the membership was quite happy with it.

49 on its way to 69 later today .... potentially heavy rain slated to pass through later today and overnight .... while not eliminated, the possibility of destructive wind, tornadoes, and such has been lowered .... really good egg, cheese, mushrooms, and Vidalia onion omelette, sausage on the side and washed down by Folgers really hit the spot ... nothing much on tap

42 heading to 60 and raining. Two days of good rain then starting Saturday it is supposed to clear up and get colder with lows in the 20’s and highs in the sunny 50’s. Should be a perfect Halloween for the kiddos.

I’m doing another DNR administered cost share program doing thinning and limbing on the back half of my property. The top 2 acres is level and fairly sparse so I will do it myself and the DNR will pay me for one half of my “costs” including an hourly rate for me, my chainsaw and any other equipment I use. (Chipper, ATV, tractor, etc) The last three acres I’m contracting out as it’s pretty steep and very heavily timbered. DNR will pay for one half of the contractor cost and I will pay the other half. I had the front five acres done in 2017 by a contractor and after that I have done lots of “fine tuning” doing more limbing in the area already done. That is a requirement for me in order to receive the cost share funds.

Had one contractor out yesterday and have another coming today. It will be a very wet walk in the woods with the rain. Yesterday it wasn’t raining but the brush was soaked and so was I. Gonna wear better rain gear today.

Yeah, heading our way tomorrow but hopefully the Cascade Mountains will suck out some of the rain. Sure feel bad for Sir Henry packing his moving van is this rain. We’re expecting dry conditions starting Saturday, hopefully that will happen on Friday for you and Sir H.

It was 61° at 7:00 a.m. It's now 73°. Just had cereal and coffee. Just finished reorganizing the closet where I keep all my reloading bullets, powder, brass, dies, etc. It was getting a bit out of hand. Loaded up 100 38 specials and 100 44 specials this morning. The rest of the day is still undetermined.

Right now it's 61° and headed towards the mid 70's for the high. Nice riding weather. I've been taking the Harley out for a few minutes each day in the afternoon. The sis in law has a doctor's appointment this morning so that's always an "ordeal" getting her out of bed and into her wheelchair. The general and I plan to go to the range today. I haven't decided what I'll shoot yet. Eggs, bacon, toast and coffee for breakfast.

The Pineapple Express Oldbrass mentioned is a stream of warm air and heavy rain from the Hawaiian Island area into the northwest. Yesterday I watched my temperatures raise nearly 10 degrees in the late afternoon early evening due to this weather phenomenon. Have to say after a cold wet hike in the morning that increase sure felt good.

Today it’s still in place as I woke up to 51 and we are looking at a high in the 60’s. Starting tomorrow we will have a cold front coming in with overnight temps below freezing and highs in the 40-50’s with partly sunny skies.

Today is a run around day for the morning and then maybe a few outdoor chores in the afternoon if it dries up as forecast.

After a week of a cyclone bomb and a Pineapple Express (both of which pretty much petered out when they reached my area) we now have cold front. 26 right now with a heavy frost. Not surprising as wet as this past week has been. Should be a beautiful day heading to the 50’s somewhere.

A few light projects this morning then the Washington State Cougars kick off with the Arizona State Sun Devils at noon. Gonna be a tough one for my Cougs, ASU is favored by 16  .

Great morning and headed down to the range to finally hang some steps on my little creek bridge. Then if I'm lucky get home in time to catch the end of the Va. Tech game.
