Little bit of shootin' and lot a bit of enjoying Fall !

Post by fortyshooter » Wed Oct 27, 2021 7:07 pm

Today was one of those "10" days you had to get out and enjoy. So I went down to the range to shoot my Henry 357 rifle and the companion Cimarron
Evil Roy six shooter. Also just wanted to sit on the creek bridge and hike around a bit to enjoy the surroundings of the Fall season. It was very peaceful down there today and about 70F with blue sky with a breeze....perfect!
For the plinking I was shooting 158 gr. MB cast coated bullets loaded with 6.0 of Power Pistol or the 180 Pugs with that 11.6 load of 2400.
The 50 yd. target shots with the Henry started off with one hit right on the black bulls eye and then the other 4 were to the left in a group.
I was shooting from my chair off my knee and think the rifle would slip to the left when the trigger was pulled. Later I shot from at standing position and got the shots more to the center.
The Evil Roy 357 six shooter likes those 180 MB Pugs and from 10 yds. one handed put 5 in a nice little group on that 8 of diamonds card! Then went to plinking the swing plates with the Henry and the six shooter from various distances.

Then on down to the creek where I set up my chair on the bridge and relaxed for an hour just to take in the Fall scenery and listen to the trickle of the creek under the bridge. Placed a minnow trap in the creek and will check it tomorrow and see if anything took the bait. Wrapped up the afternoon walking around the trails and taking a few pictures.

Was a definite 10 day today! :D For some relaxation click on the video and turn volume up and drift off with the creek sounds!

Love the one hand SA shooting! Well done. What a great way to spend such a beautiful day, too.

Those red Pugs in the Cimarron look great. Happy your creek is flowing again.

Nice shooting, especially one handed with the six gun.
