Sorry to hear Jim. Condolences to you and the family.JEBar wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 9:08 amweather wise another beautiful morning in central NC .... unfortunately, its not a very happy one .... in a few minutes we will be leaving to attend a funeral for friend and fishing buddy .... while he's truly better off, that doesn't seem to help much .... we will miss him ....
The cool air has left us as it was 68° this morning at 6:30 a.m. Right now it's 74° and sunny. I cooked bacon, eggs, flapjacks (for me....Sis-in-law is diabetic) and coffee for breakfast. I awoke hungry this morning for some reason. I've got a bit of work to do and I'll just relax the rest of the day.

Condolences Jim sorry for your loss. 34 here right now. Need to take one dog to the vet today for a shot. Then get something scheduled for the truck to have it fixed. High today is supposed to be 63. Sun is out shining brightly.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
This has been a bad year for me as well. I lost a younger cousin along with several folks I worked with over the years.
I hated to lose them but what can one do. I remember my Mother telling me that my Dad was just lost before he died. All of his card playing and fishing buddies had passed before him and he just hung around the house bugging her. I'm starting to feel that way myself. Condolences Jim. Hang in there.

All is good with my Centurylink DSL line.
40 heading to a gloomy 56 with rain coming in a few hours. Then maybe some sun breaks. Tomorrow is going to be sunny and warm and just may be our last nice fall day for the season.
The community I live in just had 10 yards of gravel delivered and today I’m going to fill in some pot holes in our road. Our road is shot and will cost around 100K to get a total repave. For a few years we were patching what we could afford but now that is just throwing money away as the road is degrading fast. Its’ a poorly done chip seal and the winter freeze thaw cycles just destroy it.

"I mentioned you folks and how I thought he would really fit in. He is an avid shooter, I mean really avid.
(No Henry's yet, but he's heard good things about them). He has a lot of firearms, lives on the desert in
New Mexico and is a really nice guy. He reads a lot, cooks a lot and just tries to enjoy life.
I've invited him to join us and hope he does. I have no idea what his handle will be, but I'll be watching for him."
Coop, I invite people I meet to join all the time. I was going to get business cards as I got tired of writing down the websites name for folks. Instead, I ordered patches. I find them easier to hand to someone and more substantial and memorable than a business card. I also encourage non-firearms folks to join as we have something for everyone here. Most folks are firearms enthusiasts and I tell them they don't need to own a Henry to join. I don't keep track to see if they join or not. All are friends here and all are welcome. I hope your friend joins and enjoys his time here. We do.

I am sorry to hear this Jim. However, as you state, he is in a better place in a better state.
High 50's going to mid 60's today.
Coffee from the Keurig today.
No plans again today. I hope everyone enjoys the day.

You are so right Al. She is in her office working and I need to keep out of her way or suffer the consequences.
I have my shop and you guys to keep me busy and interested in life.
BTW, every day except Sunday she stops work at 11:00 and we go somewhere for lunch. Sunday we do brunch.
She likes being a Lawyer even though we don't need the money. She just likes to help folks.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
I replaced the cutting board that was built into out kitchen for Carol. The fellow who built them did a
fantastic job but the cutting board was some kind of laminate that didn't hold up. I replaced it with red
oak. Then she said I should make one for each of the girls in the family, so I did.
See, she keeps me busy and out of her hair. Here they are. She has applied many coats of mineral oil
to them. One daughter does a lot of entertaining and makes cheese boards so she gets the large one.

Wow! we got two inches of needed rain in the last twenty four hours.

Folgers and well, you know, cookies.
Might get a hard freeze tomorrow night so I better drain all the hoses out and put them away.
Then I need to break out the snow plow and get ready for winter.
Thanks for the kudos, but those board were pretty easy to make. Now I need a new project to keep me busy.
Carol will think of something I bet.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Up at the cabin to winterize it and say goodbye for the cold season. Will only be here a couple days as we have to leave once the water is shut off. Winterizing the hot tub as well.
It's a good time to be here though because we just had new asphalt put down at home. Not supposed to drive on it for at least three days, which it will have been when we return.
Oh, I might add; it's supposed to be mid 60's up here on the mountain today with rain moving in late afternoon. Gotta get the 4Wheeler loaded up before then.

38 heading to a beautiful 64 degree sunny day. It has been forecasted that today may be our last 60+ degree day for the year. So……heading to the golf course for probably the last round for 2021. That’s a good thing as I’m currently playing terrible. Seems like the later in the year it gets the worse I do.
The fall colors are coming in fast and it’s pretty pretty around here,

Nice work Coop. Very beautiful wood. I like the concept you have with your wife. Let her work and stay out of her way.
High 50s going to mid 60s today.
Keurig coffee this morning.
Nothing planned for today. I hope everyone has a good day.
